Just about half an hour ago only about 47 servers are coming up for css and 14 for hl2 deahtmatch, and their latency are all over 1000! :flame:
Anyone else getting this problem?
If so please post it.

Let's have a basic look at the internet, shall we?

You, the user, are at point A. You want to get data from a server at point B, and the data travels over channel C.

If B server is screwing up, then the data you get might be corrupt/broken. If channel C is screwing up, then you the data might be getting lost in the process. If user A is screwing up, then you may read the data incorrectly.

Here's a list of the most likely cause of any general problem on the internet, especially one that involves large, multiply-redundant systems such as Steam:

1. The channel C between A and B is messed up. However, channels D, E and F from B to X, Y and Z may be fine. User A thus obvservs a problem, while no one else does.

2. User A is screwing up. Obviously user A will have a problem, while no one else will.

3. Server C is screwing up, everyone will have access problems.

The ratio of these occurances is roughly something like 90:9:1. In other words, just because something isn't working for you, you shouldn't get all excited and blame server C (as you have done in the topic of your thread). More likely it's your ISP or your own computer that is screwing up.

At least he knows what he is talking about...probably confused a few newbs, but tha''s a good thing ;)
