I would like to pretend that some things happen for a reason, and there just has to be areason behind this.

Here I am, ive been waiting desperately for HL2 since that pick of the crow bar and the message "It's coming" showed up. And now, now that it is finally here on tuesday. My ATI graphics card blows up. Over heats, and melts. And now my friends, I think I will go shoot myself in the head -_-. No not really but GOD! WHY!!!!!!

That absolutely sucks. Don't make a mistake - buy a nVidia card now.

Man you NVIDIA fan boys would turn a funeral into a possible sale for NVIDIA.

"For those of you filming this funeral on a camera. Get an NVIDIA card to play back the videos on your computer silkly smooth with great graphics.

and God bless this old dude soul."

:D

I was going to OC my 2600+, and now you've got me second guessing. Here, I can give you an e-Cookie

Yep, God is telling you he hates you.

...no, i'm playin' dude. Terrible luck. good luck with sortin' it out.

Everything happens for a reason. The problem is sometimes we don't want to accept the real reason and really, really want it to be something else.

A radeon 9700 Pro, I got it when it first came out. But really, ive always loved it. It has been a great card, ive been playing doom 3 alright.

Theres only one answer...SUICIDE.

No, man...just kidding. Email ATI, and, rid your computer of everything having to do with overclocking, and ask for a new card.

i had to send my broken x800 back last week and they still havent tested it and sent a new one back!! so looks like i wont have it for tues. i know how u feel :(

Please keep the ATI vs Nvidia discussion where it belongs - dead and buried, just like the Master Cheif or Super Captain or Major Lieutenant or whatever :D

also, i don't have teh interwab !!1

I have had problems with 3 ATI cards so far (2 r9700 pros & a 9800 pro) the first two problems were weird artifacts and texture corruption (on all the computers I tried them with). They worked fine for a few months, then borked.

My major problem was with a 9700pro... it started on fire inside my computer... (due to my psu overpowering everything.. i had a brand-name expensive psu too :\ )

But ATI replaced all three :) Even sent the new cards back with overnight shipping (and one of my 9700 pros they sent back a 9800 pro)

Anyways, if your card is not out of warranty yet, ATI seems to be good about replacing them...

BUY A NEW CARD< PUT YOUR OLD CARD IN THE NEW BOX< RETURN GET YOUR MONEY BACK>

Just buy it where they have a good return policy like sears. Don't know if they sell cards there, or compusa. You might have to pay a restocking fee but 15% is good to get a new card. Or you can just send it in and wait forever to get it back.

Thats a little dishonest, don't you think? While we're at it, should we also advise him to hijack a UPS truck with a shipment of videocards in it?
