Song I Made

Link wont work. Id like to hear it as i use fl4 too. What style is it?

Pretty much, techno, lol. I'm not too good at labeling genres. Just wait and it'll come back up again, sorry :(. I hate geocities.

Edit- It's back up!... down again. Can someone recommend better hosting?

Is it actually techno or are you using techno as a term for dance music in general (which is incorrect)?
It still wont work!
Afaik, there isnt any of what i would call good free hosting on the internet.

I told you, im not good with genres :p. I guess its dance music kinda, lol.

The email came through fine :)
Ok ill be perfectly honest here. I could tell easily that this isnt a professionally made tune. The reasons for that are mainly to do with the percussion:
Its quite minimal
On the whole its not really typical for modern techno (the distorted kick in particular, its mostly used in hardcore)
There are some oddly placed snare rolls that dont lead to anything new. In general there isnt much of a buildup, but thats probably because this tune is way, way too short. You should be aiming at 6-9 minutes.
The levels need work. The snares are way too loud.
You dont use any effects (i dont mean reverb/phasers etc)
I would add some open hats and other stuff in the background to fill it out a bit, and it needs a bassline too.
Now on the other hand, the melody although quite simple is one of the best ive heard in an amateur tune, and better than the melody in most professional tunes imo. Its not cheesy which is a huge plus. The synth work in general is good. Did you use synth1 by any chance?
Overall imo, its alright atm, but could be turned into a very good tune. I would say this is tech trance (leaning towards techno) btw, but it sounds very old school and minimal which is very unusual for tech trance.
Hope this helps.

Thanks, I really appreciate your crits :). I finished it up pretty quickly (10-20 mins) so I'll make sure to work harder on my songs next time.

Edit- I used 3xosc and Simsynth.

Second one is decent (first one link is broken), though I recognize some of the 3xOSC presets. It's all right but see if you can do something other than techno in FL - that's where it gets tough.

Erm.. im pretty sure most people that use fl make trance. Loads of people make house, hip hop, breaks etc too, youre not limited to techno (why would you be?).
