it's not just a picture ..they didnt spend hundreds of thousands on that campaign if they thought the only response they'd elicit would be "it's just a picture" ...I mean it's already working

Exactly. It's a commercial, not a metaphor for society.

Of course, what sony fails to realize is that half of any image's meaning comes from how it is interpreted by a viewer.

So whatever the intention, it's going to be seen as a white supremacist thing.

Don't buy the white PSP's if you every buy one. They can't be downgraded as of yet. And contrary to popular believe the black ones can be, even if they came with firmware 2.6.
 
Yeah, why does the fact that the white person is acting defiant to a black person cause troubles?

Are white people not allowed to win at, say, sports?

It's arguably racist to assume that any image with a black person in it is charged with negative racial subtext.

If it were two white people, no one would bat an eye.

Third party apps aren't always compatible with new updates. I've had to roll back a few times to keep using emulators on my PSP.

But yeah.. White people own.

That's a pretty damn clever ad campaign.

Definitely more interesting and probably more effective than the old one with the animated squirrels. I literally had to mute the television whenever it would come on. Not that this campaign will get any play in America though...

It's a female. You probably have trouble noticing if you are not black I guess. All people of certain races look alike except your own, they say. Proven by scientific studies.

If you insist on an explanation, I don't see black people all the time where I live. There was no way to tell from the hair, and there were no obvious signs.

I don't need one because I gave you mine. For the most part, non-blacks have trouble recognizing blacks, just as non-asians have trouble recognizing asians, and same goes for all races unless you spend some time with them.

The thing is though, in the second ad pic she is clearly wearing a skirt and has shaved legs. She is also petite compared to the white mulleted woman.
