Sony now hunting down IP's

A federal magistrate is granting Sony the right to acquire the internet IP addresses of anybody who has visited PlayStation 3 hacker George Hotz’s website from January of 2009 to the present.

Thursday’s decision by Magistrate Joseph Spero to allow Sony to subpoena Hotz’s web provider (.pdf) raises a host of web-privacy concerns.

Yeah that's all fine and good Sony, but some of us have dynamic IPs. Meaning, every time I log in to my ISP account a new IP is generated. So yeah, good luck with that one Sony.

Also, what if I visited it, but didn't download/use it? Seems like a big ol' waste of time and money.

They're going to steal your ps3, inspect it to make sure you didn't hack it, and then give you a different one back so all of your saves are gone.
