Hey, names David, new comer.
have a problem, i load HL2 and when the Valve logo with the guy and a valve in his eye appears there is sound, but then when the game loads the start screen, i get Nothing. i dont understand, because when it start creen loads and i pan over "find server", "create server", "options" and "quit" i dont hear anything. and then when i find a server, enter a game, i still dont hear a thing. its driving me insane ! why can i hear the intro valve logo thing, but nothing in the game.
So sound works fine with everything else. and one other thing, i have a built in sound card that came on the motherboard aswell as a plug in sound card. i have all the setting in _control panel/sound and audio divices_ switched to the card and i have my 5.1 surround sound plugged into my sound card as well the speakers are set to 5.1 in the advanced properties and in hl2 game the same, 5.1. It used to work a while back, i dont know what happened. i dont know what i have done wrong.
