Hello,

I built a computer about a month ago and recently installed a new soundcard. However, since I installed the soundcard, I get an error at the POST screen. When I switch the computer on, the monitor displays "No Signal", and switches itself off. After a couple of seconds the monitor turns on again, but I get an error saying that the system is now in safe mode and to try resetting the CPU frequency in CMOS. I have never altered the CPU frequency in CMOS, so I'm not sure why this is happening. My system specs are:

ECS Nforce4-A939
AMD Athlon 3000+
512MB Generic Ram
ATI Radeon X300 Pci-E
EMU 0404 PCI
Maxtor 120GB SATA HD

Please can anyone help?

Thanks

did u disable the onboard sound?

Yeah, I've got enough Power. ( It's a 500w PSU). I thought it could be a problem with the IRQ, but the Soundcard is set to 17 and the GPU is set to 18, so they aren't sharing a resource.
