How would I go about making a sound play? Like, what entity would I use, so that after triggering something, and waiting a certain amount of time, it would play?
 
you can use a trigger_multiple if you want it to be played many times...then from the outputs tab you need to set a start and stop on trigger...Best thing i advise is download ICHIs thruster canister tutorial...In it he plays around with these tabs and timing. Watching and doing is easier than trying to follow steps.

You can also use a func_button if you want players to control WHEN a sound is played...The trigger will just play the sound whenever someone hits that spot.

The ambient_generic is what you need for sounds as well and this will be the targeted entity in the outputs tab.

Sorry that i cant do step by step or give clearer instruction but this is a rush post - go to ICHIs stickied thread and follow the link for the thruster canister.its an advanced tutorial but shows the outputs tabs. Then you just need to adapt what you learn to what you need to do.
