Ok, basically, i re-formatted last night, got up this morning, reinstalled with the latest drivers for everything, sound, gfx etc etc .... after all the updating i rebooted, and now my sound is buggered, everything is really low and deep, as if there is too much bass, i checked all the settings and they are fine, nothing too high nor too low, please help ;( this is really annoying :|

It's with my headset (Plantronic Multigaming Headset, never had any problems before), SB Audigy 2 ZS Soundcard with the latest Series 2 drivers.

Is everything set to headphone settings?
It might think your headset is the subwoofer of some imaginary 5.1 setup.

Do you only hear the bass? or also mid and high? Got any hidden equalizers? Are you sure they're the right drivers?

Go into your SB CCEO control panel (If you have one) in Windows Control Panel and set your EAX, Mixer and Device control accordingly.
If that doesn't work, I don't know which model card you have precisely but you can download latest driver here: http://us.creative.com/support/downloads/

If that don't work, check your speaker connections, into your sound card at the back of the PC and connect speakers accordingly.

Almost forgot.....Set your speakers accordingly by pressing: Star, Control Panel, Sounds And Audio Devices, and hit "Advanced" in the "Speaker Setting" Tab, Set your speakers according to the speakers you now use.

Good Luck.

Go to the regular control pannel, click 'sounds, speech, and audiodevices', click on the tabs and make sure every option uses your soundblaster audigy 2 card.

aha, found the problem, it was the latest drivers that i installed, i got rid of them and installed an older Driver and it was working perfectly, thanks for the help though guys :)
