sound problems etc

Whenever I encounter a monitor with a character talking to me on it, I can't hear it - all other audio is fine. Anyone else have this prob? or does anyone know how to fix this?

And...any suggestions for getting through the insane firefight in the "Entanglement" chapter? I've seen the walkthroughs posted elsewhere, but I keep getting my arse handed to me after like 10 minutes of killing people.

This isn't a solution for either problem, but a way to ameliorate the first problem would be to turn on captions for characters talking.
