what could you do with it, whats it matter if its leaked.....?

Millions of dollars worth of coding is in the hands of anyone who can download. Thats the problem.

the only thing is maybe they will see some info about the game

well if they try to make a game, or mod, Valve can just sue them for all they are worth, i dont think this will do anything dangerous.

assuming it is the real deal, the problem is that now haxors all over the place are browsing thru the code and searching for ways to create cheats scripts for script kiddies to use when the game will be released. but i think it's all a big hoax. no way the full source code could be leaked like that. first time i ever hear about such a thing

Other developers can peer into the code they have been working on for 5 years to get ideas and/or "borrow" snippets of code to avoid legal problems with valve
