I woke up today to find that the source code has been released!!!!
It's released with projehct file for .NEt, but for the time being I only have VC++ 6, I remember on valve's hl coders list there was a post about a little tool that converts project file form .NET to 6, so just google sln to dsw and it's the second result.

unfortunatyl I havn't got enough time to play with it or look at it, I only looked at it for a few mins. didn't try to compile.

I'm at Uni right now, if anyone got it compiled under VC++6 then please post here, and if there are some things you need to do before you compile then please post them as well.

anyway .. it's OUT!

now this forum should be mroe usefull than before and should be filled with threads.

P.S. how come there was no "it's out" thread yet?

It's not the full code.

According to Valve it is...

We have released the full Source SDK via Steam. It now contains all the tools you need to make a Mod using the Source engine. To get the SDK you need to have a Steam account that owns Half-Life 2 (either brought via Steam or using a retail CD key).
The documentation for the SDK can be found at: http://www.valve-erc.com/srcsdk/

I personally haven't had a chance to check it yet though.

anyway...

i'm in the same boat. anyway to convert from 2003 to v6?

ok i clicked on make a new mod just to see how everything worked out and stuff. and so now i have this mod under my current game thing that says MyMod. i deleted the folder i created but its still there. any idea how to get rid of it?

ive restarted it yes.

did you delete the entire folder (the very root C:\MY MOD\ rather than c:\my mod\folder)

i just deleted the folder and it removed it. tried rebooting your pc?
