Valve has released the new 2013 version of the Source SDK that brings somewhat significant changes to it.
You can now build and release mods for Linux and OSX, and existing mods can update to SteamPipe by altering the "gameinfo.txt" file. The most significant change is that the Source SDK source code is now hosted on Github, so you need to sync up with that repository.
Another major change introduced is the added support for the Oculus Rift virtual reality headset, which allows modders to easily integrate VR and head tracking support using the existing "-vr" command line.
Hammer and the other Source SDK tools will ship with their respective games as Valve begins to phase out the old SDK Launcher.
You can find more information on how to set up the Source SDK on the developer wiki.
