DIE COMMIES DIE!!!

South Korea Thursday unveiled a high-tech, machine gun-toting sentry robot that could support its troops in detecting and killing intruders along the heavily fortified border with North Korea.

and Numbers creams his pants

I wonder how long before it's used for crowd control

God thats horrible.

Ohhhh Solaris, you so cah-razy! With all the twisted stuff you support, i'm sure some facet of your personality approves of this too.

Think of it this way - it's a step closer towards fully automated war. And that means a massive reduction in casualties.

Until they turn on us.

A machine that kills people, anyone, without consideration. It disgusts me. I'm not a great fan of guns either, but thats just horrible. I support socialism, I do not support anything twisted. Nothing I support would have adverse effects.

So, you've seen it's source code? You know that it's just going to shoot indiscriminately?
We've yet to reach a point in which AI can be fully automated in something so dangerous. Likely, it'll need an ok from a remote operator to actually fire - instead, it'll just raise the alarm.

Solaris - you'd support it if it was killing any of the following:

American soldiers
The "Burgeois"
Anyone you consider well-off

You really gotta get your priorities straight.

I need a couple for my lawn.

That would be so awesome to have one or two imbedded in your lawn. But calibrated for a different sort of target, particularily various sports balls.

Picture this...

Beautiful sunny day, neighborhood full of lively action. Families in backyards barbecuing, children running around the streets playing. A couple of them are out on the street and sidewalk, and a football is tossed. As it sails through the air, up from the lawn of old man Mcgee springs an automated gyro-stabilized turret, that locks onto the football and with a powerful blast of lead shreds it to pieces. The limp pigskin falls to the pavement below. Then next an air filled rubber kickball is hurled over the fence by a neighborkid, and the automatic targeting system locks onto it and a loud pop mingled with the rat-a-tat-tat of the machinegun fills the air. As quickly as it had come, the gun system deactivates and retreats back into its hidey-hole, concealed by a patch of genuine lawn grass and dirt.

Glorious.

I wish they would use this technology for good instead of evil ..like surrounding a troublesome nation with these sentries but instead of having them point outward, they should point inward ..that way no one escapes to contaminate the rest of us

/me draws up plans for sentries to be deployed on the 49th parallel facing south

/me steals plans, lines them around the perimiter of Crawley

I think the following quote applies.
"Never think that war, no matter how justified is not a crime"Can't remember who said it. It's a horrible machine, it could have morally justifiable applications, however it would still be a monstrously horrible thing.

I don't agree with the people running it, but I must admit that that is cool as ****.

You've never really been one for peaceful protest.

All those armchair Generals out there, embrace technocracy!

Yeah, one day wars will be fought by bots, and nanobots which will eat your skin.

What was the name of that piratey sounding song in the video?

I think you can justify war, sometimes it is the best option, even morally. However it is still a horrible thing, a crime. Killing is wrong, very wrong, yet sometimes some must be killed so others may live.

By the look of those images, it's racist too. Look, it locks on to black dudes, but not white dudes.

really? I did notice there were a lot of unanswered questions ..I mean the entire page is full of this: 침입자나 이상 물체를 탐지한 뒤 내부에 장착된 무기로 직접 침입자를 제압까지, 침입자나 이상 물체를 탐지한 뒤 내부에 장착된 무기로 직접 침입자를 제압까지, 침입자나 이상 물체를 탐지한 뒤 내부에 장착된 무기로 직접 침입자를 제압까지

Maybe these are the post-shooting questions.

That's what Hitler said! :O

Let's see...if the American forces left South Korea (and I wouldn't blame them for doing so, with all the anti-Americanism over there), the numerical advantage of the North Korean forces could easily steamroll the border and take Seoul.
Here is a solution, of sorts, to that problem.
But...but...some commies might die. My heart bleeds.

Maybe these are the post-shooting questions.

lol, such as

"are you a commie?"

"where are the rest of the commies"

"hypothetically speaking if you were a commie, and I'm not saying you are ...where would your commies friends hang out ..off the record of course ..oh and speak towards the microphone"

"why are you being unresponsive?"

"this is the automated defense system, Skynet, we have detected the likelihood that you are a communist spy, we regret to inform you that you have been terminated, thank you and have a nice day"

Bweheheh. The Computer knows you're a Commie Mutant Traitor!

-Angry Lawyer

How does this detect "enemys"? A machine can not calculate whether a human is being hostile or friendly, enemy or ally, jokeing or being serious. What if it got all crazy like "KILL ALL HUMANS" and it was like "RATATAT" and everyones like "OMFG SKYNET IS ONLINE" and then it connects itself to the net and launches its nukes all over the world and everyone dies!

Could happen!

Lol, how is it any different from a gun or the ucavs or anything that kills people.

The Terminator era begins!

Oh noes D:

That's a cool sentry gun, but it's got nothing on the American made Sword:

Fully mobile remote controlled robot that can be outfitted with any weapon, from M249s to Grenade launchers. It's based on the bomb defusal robots. Should be deployed into Iraq shortly.

Just imagine turning the corner and seeing a killbot steamrolling towards you with an M249.

you're missing the point ..they're stationary gun turrents ..or communist kill-bots
