i installed service pack 2 and when it restarts it says it has to start in safe mode and crap like that. i had to go in safe mode and uninstall it for my computer to work again. anyone know whats with this?

Did you have a genuine version of windows?

The best time to install SP2 is right after you format, on a clean install of Windows. Much less chance for problems then.

Best to do it after a clean reformat, good advice there. I have a genuine version of windows that refuses sp2 on another comp, I'm waiting to get another HD to store my crap so I can nuke it and install all service packs in one go.
