I've been looking into getting a set of new speakers becaue the ones I'm using now suck. I've been looking into the Klipsch ProMedia Ultra 5.1 500 Watt speakers. Does anyone know if they're good or not? If they are good are they worth the money?

The logitech Z680's seem better to me. They have less problems from reading user reviews, they are THX certified and they are 500W.

The speakers are well worth the money though right? I also like the look of the Kilpsch more. To me they seem like the same exact set of speakers.

z680s are probably more bang for your buck, 500 watts, excellent sound quality, THX but also the ability to have your DVD player, Xbox, PC and PS2 all plugged in at once, giving you an entire home cinema for under £300. :bounce:

hah, 500 watts?

Do you guys really think they can play 500W?

500w could brake my house right in the middle... RMS is better to look at (or the real effect)

500w could be anything, like this one:

or this one:

Why not take a 800w like this:

ooorrr... why not take something like this:

with some good speakers... but youy only get 2x 100w with that :/

I hope you get my drift :)

z680s 500watts RMS, 1000watts total peak power

So basically the speakers are the same quality and it doesn't really matter which you buy?

Although, from what I have seen, the Z680's are cheaper than the Klipsch or however its spelled.

Just have somebody right down both speakers and have them # them and then pick a number, nice random way to pick which one to get.

THX is a quality stamp basicly.
They have to pay to use it though, I think.
So that means some speakers could qualify for it but may not wish to pay to use it.
If the speakers meet the power output and quality at different ranges (stuff like that) they can be THX certified. ;)

Its a toss up to which I would get.
I've always heard great things about the klipsch though.

What do people think about the Creative Inspire T7700 7.1 speakers.
I know there cheap at about £100.00 which is certainly a plus in my view but what are they like sound wise?
I've already got a SB Audigy 2 ZS
Thanks

Shoddy.

All I know is that I better be getting the best sound I've ever heard out of a speaker for $399.95.

Oh, the klipsch. I thought you were talking aboutthe Z680's, because tahts a bit overpiced for them ;)

Newegg has the klipsch's for $360.

I think the Promedia Ultra 5.1 and the Z685s are the same price. But I don't know about the Z680s.

wow talk about an old topic... okay i did lots of research on this when i bought my z-680s about a year ago... they basically take over the speaker crown from the klipsch set(don't get me wrong, i think both the klipsch and logitech sets are great...) what did it for me is the whole logitechs have all of the decoders you need, whereas for the klipsch set, you pay an extra $150 to get the second decoder... don't remember which one it is... dolby pl2? anyways, logitech and klipsch are like... very similar in sound quality, i gave a good listen to them both, bass is better by far... (eh..i guess that's a bit subjective) on the logitechs... and the logitech set is quite a bit cheaper... so i saw it as "better bang for less bucks" instead of "more bang for the buck"

but really, you can't go wrong with either one.

Logitechs are great speakers and are relatively cheap. From what I've read "THX certified" speakers are an amazing waste of money unless you're a huge audiophile. The average gamer will not notice the difference in sound for most games.

jbl speakers are preety nice, but i dont think they are made for pc.
