We are human beings. Its our nature to feel compassion, if we were all cold blooded killers then we probably wouldn't have any problems with killing our own parents whenever they make us mad.

If we were too just kill off all "tards" then we would be killing off a large part of what makes us human.

Now you see. This is a very vague question to begin with, and constantly referring to them as tards doesn't show much respect or maturity about the topic. First of all not all of those with mental handi-caps are anywhere near useless. In some cases they are very hard workers who's life revolves around their work. In others they are virtually useless in the material sense of the word. But if there are people out there who want to take care of those that are useless, then by all means they should be able to. I know if you got into an accident and lost much, but not all, of your ability to comprehend things, you'd still be scared just like any other human if someone where to suffocate you with a pillow for a reason you didn't understand.

Who are you to put a value on another humans life? They can achieve things, they can do things, and they, like everything else in this world, have their place. As to your "They are known for violence" statement, there are many "sane and mentally fit" people in this world who commit evil on a level that far surpasses anything a retarded person could ever do. The value of a human is not judged in a courtroom, it is simply decided whether they are guilty or innocent of a specific crime.

Whether guilty or innocent the value of that human being does not change.

EDIT: Why can't they be sane if they commit violent acts? Everybody gets mad, thats human nature. Just because someone is sane doesn't mean that they will never commit an act of violence.

I don't think anybody here is a psychology major, but I think we all have a set of human morales that tells us killing the weak is something that animals do.

They are useless in the terms of making money, being self sufficient and getting an education and bascially helping society. That sir is a fact and not my opinion.

Nope, in America you are legally insane only if you cannot distinguish between right and wrong. If someone commits an evil act and shows no remorse they aren't insane, just cold-blooded. Going by what you say, all those in jail for committing violent acts would be considered insane, which isn't true in the slightest.

Some kind acquire simple jobs where they can excel if they are absorbed in their work and not easily distracted (which is a charecteristic of certain mental retardation disorders). Saying Fact. does not make anything a fact. Show some proof that 100% of mental retardation cases go hand in hand with anger of violence problems.

Also any number of non mentally retarded people have trouble gaining an education and making money. Should they also be gotten rid of for not having an education and making a profit?

Well this argument was never very defined or serious (at least the way you were talking about a serious disabity in a humorous manner) in the first place. Anyways I think because the vast majority of the human populace wil always support taking care of the mentally handicapped that letting all of them die will never be an option. So why argue for an option that is inhumane at its very roots?

We are human. We protect those we love even if they are weaker. We also often develop love for those that are weaker than us and need us to take care of them, even if we are not part of their blood family.

My opinion is complicated. Its rather sad that someone has to go through life as a special person and not being able to enjoy the finer things in life. Like the computer. I wish it would never happen to anyone. Why would anyone wish that on someone. It horrible, and I couldn't imagine what its like for the families. Life is all we have on earth and I would not take that away from anyone. (Unless they killed someone close to me then ) :sniper:

Hmm, I know this one kid with downsyndrome who's really cool, he always smiles and waves when he sees you and he's always trying his best in school to impress the teachers, it's pretty awesome. I feel really sorry for the parents sometimes though, who are torn between the child's happiness and their own.
