Everyone complains about the bugs in BF2, blah blah blah. "Don't buy the expansion until they fix the bugs in the original". Blah blah blah.

The thing is, at least DICE gets their games released on time, albeit a little buggy. Unlike other developers like VALVE and now Bethesda Softworks with their delay of Oblivion, which was supposed to be release in 2-3 weeks.

Delays I can't stand. Bugs you can live with.

I personally haven't seen any bugs in my 200 hours of BF2 playtime but apparently other people have. I don't understand how the biggest fanboys of BF2 who play for hours a day are the ones who are always complaining it's buggy. (Meanwhile they devote 1/4 their life to it)

The point is, at least we are playing the game, and at least they get their games released on time! That's great! I rather have a few random bugs hit some random people than to wait an extra 6 months to play!

At least that's my opinion, and yes, I will be buying Special Forces.

Thanks to DICE for getting their games out on time and continuing to work on them by issuing hotfixes. That's how it should work people. Gamers can't have it both ways, it would be a miracle for a company to release a game on time with 0 bugs. That's basically an impossibility.

By the time AFTERMATH gets released we'll probably all have grey hairs. Just look at Lost Coast. 10 months of waiting for what..? Your telling me you rather have not played it back in Spring with a few little bugs that hit some random people? Cmonnn... Gabe should have his programmers sleeping under their desks and living off Chinese food and pizza instead of taking their sweet time while they spend their millions.

I completly disagree.
Especially when tt comes to bf2. Bf2 has some gameruining bugs, and dice/ea hasn ot fixed them yet. That shows how much shit they give about the community. I don't want to buy a game from a dev that leaves game ruining bugs in the game. The people who bitch about it and yet still devote themselves to it are the ones who have the most right to bitch. They basicly liek the game, and have played it trough and trough and are the ones that understand what a damaging effect the bugs have on the gameply.

Actually, it seems people overreact when it comes to bugs in BF2 or I am just so lucky that I don't encounter them often. The only "bug" annoying me is the teamkills system that doesn't always charge the right playerl for the teamkill.

what bugs
everyone has said bugs bugs everywhere and yet i have never seen one bigger than a niggle if any at all
i mean at least name these ' show stoppers' - what happened that ruined your game - to be the bugs talk smacks of bs

I'd rather wait and have a bug free game. Though, i haven't really come across any bugs in BF2.

A bit buggy, let me say this, HELL NO, more than a "bit buggy." Then patch 1.01 yeah such a great thing, loved the memory leak and reinstalling the game.

I rather have a delayed game that worked correctly and flowed nicely, than a game ridden with bugs, balance issues, lag, and other things.

You just tried and dog VALVe, not a smart move buddy, at least VALVe can put out updates that don't cause massive memory leaks and make you completely reinstall the game.

Take the trolling elsewhere.

Have you tried the editor for BF2?
its shocking and no word on a patch to get it running properly.
Shame on you EA

I'll take a delay over bugs. It's just personal preference, long suffering while I chat with other people about what the game might be like vs. not-as-long suffering while I chat (read: cuss) with myself trying to figure out what's wrong.

The point is that at least you are able to complain about it! Too buggy for you? Then wait for the patch. For me, I have experienced virtually 0 bugs, and I rather not have had to wait until say, December for example.

Meanwhile, everyone who actually knows the bugs has already devoted 659 hours to the game and is complaining they can't get their new rank at 20,000 points. Oh yeah... that must mean it's buggy and it sucks.

bf2 was not ready to ship when it did, thats for sure. the bugs arent so terrible now, i still see a few from time to time. if it had shipped like this it might have been forgivable but it wasent. this is a "fixed" version after what, 3 patches?

compare that to the weekly patches of hl2 lol
i got bf2 the day it arrived in europe and aside from the annoying red named allies(which was rare) i never had any problems, one crash from the memory leak after nearly 6 hours of non stop play
bugs?....what bugs? - this game was the most polished offering from any company i'd ever bought

It was so polished they had to go back to the drawing board with the helicopter situation.....

that was a balance issue not a bug and they only tweaked the blackhawk overall - hardly going back to the drawing board
edit - assuming this is what you are talking about the copilot chopper bug switching between gun and tv was annoying but easily fixed by some crazy machine gun looping :E

this game feels abit like good al FarCry, that game was full of bugs & took ages for patches ot clear them.

Wait another bit and buy the game in great condition
Release the game on time, and download 3 patches.

I like the waiting part. And there are some pretty large bugs. I mean, the one we are screwing with right now is the reserved slots on our server. We put up 2 reserved slots on our 24 man server, and it drops the max for players at 13. O_o tried it numerous times, kept getting crazy numbers. DICE haven't really addressed that issue yet..and everybody I've talked to have had the same problem, or something else that creates a problem from activating it.

Im in the same boat as the original poster. Bugs dont bother me much at all. As long as they arnt showstoppers like CTDs and the like. I like VTM:B a lot, and that is the buggiest game I have ever played. Gothic I and II were pretty buggy, but never bothered me. Kotor II was buggy, and didnt bother me (except I couldnt race after I crashed that one time). I never saw any of the bugs in BF2. Had no problem with the bugs in Morrowind, and even still enjoyed Soldner for awhile, before I couldnt handle the "DISCONNECTED!!!" thing that the voice yelled out whenever you lost connection.

So yeah, im for "gimme the game now, let us play and mod, and keep fixing it on the way.
