Speculation: EB's release date

EB's release date

in case you didn't know, EB has posted this as the release date:
Pre-Order: Ships on 03/31/2004
is this accurate? or just speculation
do you really think it's gonna be out by then?
with games like doom 3 and stalker being pushed back even further, will HL2 be delayed once again... 100% complete or not!?
just something to think about :p
 
Sadly, retail stores no nothing more than us. Only VALVe (if even they) know the release date.
 
i'm no expert, but speculation. it's gotta be with so many dates flyin around...
 
yes i realize there are a million posts concerning the release date
but this is EB we're talkin
they've always had accurate dates posted on their site in the past..

well, you've only got three posts here.

EB has posted (in recent memory) for Half-Life 2: Sept 30th, Mid-November, Dec. 1st, Jan 10th, April 2004, and now 3/31/04.

The policy on this board is unless the date comes from Valve (or maybe from Vivendi), it's not worth looking at.

B_MAN, ur not the first to post a thread like this one (release date from EB thread).. and certainly won't be the last.. but please.. try the search function first... it gets incredibly annoying for the regulars here.. although i am not claiming to speak for the masses here..

here try this thread and take some of the advice in it as well.. because its quite truthful..

Excluding another delay April looks like the month we'll see the game..

That's what we were saying when the retailers kept moving the date away from September 30th... they were right, remember?

bah, but half of us were saying it wouldn't be out on the 30th! lol, the retailers just got lucky..
 
Yes , the retailers were correct in their release date predictions, give or take a few months.
 
The retailers like EB get there information from the publisher and sometimes the developer, just like we do. The only difference is they get the information more often than the public because the public complain every time the release date is changed. They need that information to know when roughly they are going to start makeing advertisements and shipping discs.

Not all the retailers and manufacturers are updated at the same time though or sometimes get there dates from second had sources so you get conflicting dates from different shops, that are at best a rough estimate of when the game is to be released. Right now the most reliable sources that predicted the delay are now pointing to in and around April, makeing it the most reliable release date.

that, and when u talk to an EB sales person and are told HL2 is not a DX9 game.. it just shows how much EB pple really know...

until a gold date is confirmed.. anyone's guess is as good as the pple from EB.
 
yeah ive noticed how ilinformed EB employees are
sometimes they just hire a foxy lady to boost sales
 
Pure speculation ..they dont know as much as we do
