Instead of making another specualtion thread. I figure I ask why you people love to speculate so much. I am not a fan of speculation, I dont see the point in it; Why would you want to hear the random guesses and opinions from complete strangers. That's probably why I don't like forums, well atleast forums of games that aren't released yet. Now you are probably ready to tell me to eat shit and die and ask why I'm here then. Well... I'm here to see if there's any real information on HL2. There isn't, which is why I come to these forums once a week now at the most. But I see... hmmm... "silly" threads like 'what has gordon been doing?', 'persistant data in multiplayer', 'i've seen the light(combine speculation)', 'how long will you give the HL2 media'. Along with some totally retarted threads like 'is your comp ready for HL2?' which is just a poor excuse to brag about computer specs (to complete strangers nontheless:dozey: ) These threads obviously have no real answer to be spoken of, speculation threads made just to, well, constantly guess and gossip. My question is why do you guys do it? Do you get fun out of it?

I am not out to insult or make fun of you people. This is a serious question that should have serious answers. Don't flame if I said something that you don't like. This is just for conversational purposes.

Well you could try out some new hobbies or somethin to pass the time. If not, then in the gaming, you can play plenty of other awesome games: Raven Shield, Warcraft 3; Frozen Throne recently came out and that game is awesome I definately suggest for you to try that. It's perhaps the greatest RTS game ever made.

Some of the threads are annoying, I think they are only going to get worse though, As time gets nearer September 30
(if it dosent slip) the threads will be all repeated again you can bet money on it.

I was wondering the same question, espeecially the thread is your comp ready for HL2, which is just to show off your comp. Half of these topics are full with spam and I don't see many admins giving warnings out. The rules should be more strict

Because it's fun to talk about the possibilities and fantasize and wish. It's just as pointless and not fun as science fiction literature. Honestly, what fun can be had by pondering the subjects of whether there are aliens out there, and if there are what they look like, and what they do, and what sauce they eat humanoids with.

Well they're not strict as such, but they do enough. They move threads to the right forums, they delete messages and they ban the pricks. They've disabled post count logging (but just click the search button underneath your posts to bring up all the ones you've sent ) to stop some of the spam and it's worked. The rest is just harmless fun.

more interesting when we had those speculation threads. Now it's just crap like "why didn't the media come out on [insert date here]" and "why do people speculate".

Well I guess we've gone off topic enough as it is. I used to do martial arts for 8 years, shotokan, got to dark brown belt (1 down from black). It got kinda boring. Now I just play basketball and workout.

Safe, I may as well tell u lot what i do since i brought up the subject hadent I lol.


I do Muay thai as my main martial art and i am trained by a former world champion, Which i try to tell as many people as possible of course

I also do tai kwon do, but thats useless in a fight situation generaly speaking and so i dont take it all that seriously.

I have also just started Ju jit su, which is great so long as there is only one oponent

And i did judo for about 3 or four years which is great fun, Trust me, if u wana get into martial arts do Judo it gives u alot of confidence. Just make sure you do another as well cos judo is useless in a real fight cos there are no punches kiks or nethin like that in Judo just throws locks and strangles.

I have also learned alot off my brother who ahs studied Wing Chun, Jeet kun do and escrima (stickfighting) He was tought by a guy who was a world champ in one Martial art and a British Champ in another, I believe he had about 8 blackbelts and even more brown belts and experience in much more! He was actualy trained by someone who was taught by Bruce lee himself.




If U think that martial arts are useless then READ THIS:

One of my friends who does muay thai with me was drunk in a very rough part of my city and FOUR people HIS SIZE AND BIGGER tried to beat him up. Within about 1 minute he had one in a head lock and another on the ground held down by his hoodie over his face. The other 2 ran away!

Martial arts, im sad to say has helped me little in the daily fighting stuff. I got into a few fights of course. But like, when i fight i dont use any of the martial arts i know lol. Like i dont do the stance or nothin like that. Some guy swinged at me and the most karate that came out of that was i blocked with my backhand and grabbed his wrist right after and socked him in the face while pullin him towards my fist by his arm. To say the least, martial arts or not, drunk or not, you should have just carried a glock. It's like my lit teacher used to say (who was also martial arts), DONT BLOCK! USE A GLOCK! =P
