Splinter Cell: Conviction Gameplay trailer + Assassin's Creed

You just bet me to it :( still those games look awesome! :O I am so excited for SC5 now!! TOO many games out this year!

They spent SIX MONTHS just matching hands to objects that Sam picks up? Jesus Christ...

SC looks okay, I think Hitman and Assassin's Creed do this kind of thing better.

That Assassin's Creed trailer makes sword combat look more realistic than any other game before it. Being a HUGE Hitman fan, I'm really looking forward to it.

lame ? why.

I think this is a step forward in the trilogy of sam fisher.

I love stealthy type games and am looking forward to the release of both of these titles.

Assasin's Creed of course looks amazing, can't wait.

The new Splinter Cell ... not so much. Basically looks like a poor man's Assasin's Creed, which is weird since it's the same team.

Both look totally awesome to me. I like the idea of the new SC, but I think that all these innovations should be left to another storyline, not part of the SC franchise. I'd miss being the superspy up to his elbows in gadgets like in Chaos Theory or Double Agent.

Getting both for sure. Both look very good.

PS3, X360, and PC

It was actually originally PS3 IIRC

Did they announce that it's coming to PC now too? Tat's cool.

I might buy it just to support them, for supporting the PC. After I upgrade, I might be dying to push it to the limit anyway.

Oh lawdly lawd. Im so glad AC is coming to PC. It will probably be the only other game I buy this year besides STALKER

Why can fisher suddenly toss people across the room with ease? The combat seems like some kind of beat em up. The diversion thing looks like a gimmick that will get old fast and the game looks as linear as the rest, only without the stealth that made it fun.

Oh well, assassins creed is still looking great at least.

Altair looks pretty badass. Holy Hassasins! The sword fights look great. Hope they play great as well.

SC, I'm sorry looks stupid. When did Sam become The Incredible Hulk? throwing people against walls and such. The crowd system...when Sam picked up the mobile they just what, decided to follow him? Nobody yelling thief, nobody blocking his way etc. And create a diversion by blowing up a propane gas tank with a automatic rifle? Bit heavy handed don't you think? I was hoping for more subtle ways of diversion.

Sam Fisher Must Die.

SC5 - will get it out of love for the series. Cant not get it really.

Assassin's Creed - will get it because its always looked, to me, like one of the best games ive ever seen.

fook, assasins creed looks bloody amazing, i love the whole style and setting for the game, totally my thing, whats the song btw in the trailer? sounds kinda like ian brown?

Its Loney Soul by U.N.K.L.E

Good beat, suits the trailer perfectly i thought *goes onto iTunes and snoops around for it* [edit] This song is AWESOME. VERY Explosions In The Sky but with simple lyrics that remind me of Gorillaz.

I cant stop watching the AC trailer. The fighting just looks AWESOME. Sure itll probably be one button to push at the right time and the hits are all scripted after that, but hell, if a game doesnt make you think 'that was ***king cooool' then why bother?

Physics, PoP-style free-running (on LITERALLY EVERY CRACK ON A WALL), fighting, assassinations, stealth, tactics, horseriding, crowd interaction, the list just goes on for this awesome game.

You can even get LOST in a crowd whilst being chased by guards...omg ***king GENIOUS!

Can't wait for AC even though I have had to for years now!!

SC5? Well, I will just have to see some more of it--it could be really great, but it may be just average (by which I cannot abide).

I think both games will be at least good. By which I mean, Splinter Cell will be good, while Assassin's Creed will be amazing. It looks like the kind of stealth game I've wanted for YEARS.

Now for a developer to mix AC's stealth and free-running mechanics with a GTA-style sandbox world with a large helping of Hitman-style missions...

AC - ****ing want!

New PC would be a must for that one though.

BTW: Any source regarding it coming to the PC?

None on hand but it is said by wiki and gaming websites to be coming to PC.

I'm not really impressed with what I've seen so far of Conviction. But it will probably feel different when I get to play the game myself. AC is pretty meh. Wow, I can climb buildings and assassinate targets. Yay! Just another Hitman set during the middle ages with some new features.

Oh well, it might be worth playing.

I'll probably get SC 5 before AC, it's higher on my anticipation list as it is SC and the gameplay I thought looked kickass. Although I will get AC like it has been said it is a middle ages Hitman game.

Cool, only thing I didn't really like was the explosion in SC, it looked like shit.

Man, how many Splinter cell games have there been? I've always found them vastly inferior to the MSG games tbh.

If you like games like Thief you should like Splinter Cell more. It's more about stalking your pray and sticking to shadows. A lot more tactical.

I've got a funny feeling that Conviction will Jump the Shark. It looks like Ubisoft have decided that playing a mad tramp who hangs around a city centre, constantly drunk and fighting for scraps is the right way "to take the brand forward".

I've always found it to be the exact opposite. MGS, to me, is a stealth series that hasn't moved past its archaic mid-90s origins, where Splinter Cell is far more realistic, and is far more apt to change between iterations of the series.

But to each his own :p

Assassin's Creed looks fantastic, SC5 looks a bit boring, the combat looked really bland, like all you have to do is hit a button for grapple and another for hit and the game does all the work, much like Double Agent

To me it's just personal preference, I prefer the more fictional outlandish type plot-lines featured in MGS (for the most part). Though I think MGS3 became rather tiresome.

I think both have their own share of drawbacks.
