Splinter cell, Hitman, MGS or Theif?

Which do you think is the better series? and why?

Theif invented the sneaker, so it at least deserves some recognition for posterity. Splinter Cell I think had the best combat dynamic.

MGS? Every one in the series I played was naff - boring melodramatic plot and fairly dull combat. Even the sneaking seemed badly done. Theif at least seemed realistic in the 3rd one.

Thief because it's a more personal experience. MGS and Splinter Cell kind of take you away from the game, and make it like you're watching a movie instead of actually living the game.

I don't know how much MGS really qualifies as a stealth game anymore. While it obviously inspired much of Splinter Cell, its more of an action game by today's standards. That said, Snake Eater seems to be trying to get back to the stealth-aspect of the series.

i have always been and will always be a huge MGS fan, so that, sp is a close 2nd

I think I forgot to add "Hitman" in my last edit. Consider it too, the second game at least makes it worth considering as good stealth title.

Anyway, I myself personally perfer splinter cell. To me, at least, it offers much satisfying stealth action. Can't wait for splinter cell: choas theory.

MGS2 was probably the last game I played all the way through in one night. I loved it. I can't speak for the Thief series, as unfortunately i've never played any of them. I regret this. Splinter Cell looks fun, but I haven't played it either. =/

MGS and SC are at a tie for me, they both rock :D

imo, wait for sc3 :D

Um...you spelled "Theif" wrong. It's spelled "Thief". Remember the saying..."i" before "e" except after "c". ;)

Oh...and shouldn't this be a poll? :rolling:

But my choice for the better series is...hhmmm...Splinter Cell or Metal Gear Solid? Splinter Cell or Metal Gear Solid?...I think I'll go with...Splinter Cell. But Metal Gear Solid comes in a very, very close second. And Thief is just out of the picture. Why did I choose Splinter Cell? The graphics...the luscious graphics. I have never seen better graphics in a game, and the series just keeps getting better. :)

There all so good!

I've played and beaten both MGS and liked them both, but the story for the 2nd one was ok.

I beat Splinter Cell and am half way through Pandora Tomarrow, and have beaten the first two thiefs but I haven't played the first yet.

I'd have to say its a tie just because I like them all.

MGS 1 and 2 are my favorite games other than Half-Life. The attention to detail and overall design of everything are genius, and the gameplay is fun. They're extremely good, with the only problem being that their plot is so complex that you could spend a year just trying to understand it.

Splinter Cell was almost as good, but had too little variety and a forgetable plot, which left me with no real desire to play it again.

Thief and Hitman were both "meh" to me.

I loved SP, but it gets so boring, so I diden't play Pandora Tomorow, I think that it's over hyped.

MGS!!! i just love the movie like play and all cutscenes makes it feel badass
and thief didnt invent stealth mgs was first.

i think splinter cell is the worst, its a cool game and all but its not so much fun. i even got bored with part2, i thought i was just getting bored with stealth games but i just started playing thief3 and i love it.

the enemys in splinter cell etc just feel so fake and always when they see u they sound the alarm in 1 second they never try to shoot u they just stand there calling for backup and the story isnt so exiting also no cool cutscenes etc.

i really love the freedom of thief3, i never played thief 1 or 2

Splinter Cell just isn't as much fun as MGS. Possibly because SC takes itself too seriously.

Plus, nothing can beat a fat man in a massive blast suit rolling around on rollerblades on a helipad.

Gayyest Bosss EVER. I hated that guy in MGS2, he was just so lame. Altogether i didn't like MGS2 as much as the first one. The first one was great, the 2nd one i had play as Raiden for most of the game....not cool. And the storyline was wack.

Thief is better in my opinion. The whole world and atmosphere alone beats out the other two

I liked both MGS1 and 2 both as much as each other really. Only bad points about MGS2 that I found was the swimming part..and the bit near the end when your in fighting those Metal Gears.
