Ok, the game was great. I was running on min spec processor, a rad 9200, it was 800x600 med textures, but ran fine.

Great fights. A plot that beats some films out nowadays. Excellent AI (on the whole). Even on crappy specs PC, good gfx (excellent on top spec). Etc etc etc.

Clever ending...
but...
Wtf, two gunships is the final boss?

Wats that all about?

I do some 3D platforming, then the final boss is two of what I encountered before even the half way point in the game. Valve, what was that all about?

Why not make us utilise the phys gun in a clever way to beat a big scary boss. Like having to grab it's missiles out of the air. Or have us accidently teleported away and have to fight a massive battle against tons of combine.

Great game. Great plot. Frankly, a sh*t ending. Although the final g-man scene was very good.

AH HA! Yes, I completely agree, extremely poor ending.

The action in the middle of the game is great fun, but the end, just no. Come on Valve can you really be proud of that.

It was not action packed and left far to much to our imaginations. I mean living the end open is a good thing, but not like a great big gaping void of nothing. What was Breen about, why was he about that, what happens now, is society back to normal, etc

Dude you guys are stupid, the ending was awesome. Yes it did not make sense whats gonna happen next or why it had to happen that way or whatever the whole is not making sense but thats what the Endings should be like, its called CLIFFHANGER. It leaves you wondering and puzzled and speechless and stoned wondering whats gonna happen next or why it happend like this. Stop complaning the Story is the best ever. Good Job Valve keep it up =D

The ending left the door wide open for HL3 and that's the best ending I could ask for ;D

Heh...show but don't tell. Leaving a lot to the imagination is a good thing. Also, we saw lots throughout the game suggesting what is happening, you just have to pick up on it.

As for the action, I thought it was sufficient. Kind of different from the normal "big boss" and not too much like "Lets throw every enemy from the game at the player"

I did say the ending, plot wise was good.

And OK, a big boss maybe aint the most original way of going about things. But is it better than two gunships?

It's certainly original, having a crap end of game fight. I mean, yeah it's cliched, but you want SOMEthing exciting and new to happen right at the end. A big brawl. They could have done something better. Because the last proper fighting was waaay back at the end of follow freeman, with the striders. The rest was just p*ss easy grabbin ppl/ shootin ppl at ppl/ shootin balls at striders etc etc.

2 gunships AIN'T the way to end a game as good as half life 2.

HL3, WTF. It best be good, unlike HL2.

When I watch a drama on tv, and they make the break(adverts, commercials), just at a cliffhanger point sometimes.

Ok, that is a 2-3 min wait for the film to start again.

Not a 6 year wait for a whole new game to be developed, or even a small wait for a Ex Pak.

I think its just the hardcore fans saying its great, fair enough.

I can understand others like me, who have not played CS (56k, I hate it) and who don't get the whole 'G-Man' thing, just thinking well what is the point.

Anyone remember Star Wars episode, err, 5? The Emperor Strikes Back anyway. Was there a Death Star blowing up? Was there Darth Wader getting all beat up? Hell no, because it was the middle part of a trilogy. So is HL2. I can almost hear you thinking.

Correct answer:
Big Battles and Huge Difficult Bosses that Die in a Cool Way belong to trilogy endings. God I want hl3!!!
:E

I thought the end rocked. No need for a special "boss" guy, the whole end level was the final fight. Loved it. Last chapter blew my mind.

Best ending I ever saw.. same goes for the whole game.

Btw valve would be putting out episodes trough steam I heard, so MAYBE we find out more about the HL story sooner then we think.

no im sorry, zapping combine with a modded gun, over and over. duing sum platforming. zapping some balls then zapping balls at gunships aint an ending. It was not a good ending, gameplay wise. I didn't really like the way the plot ran (not cuz im a quik fix movie junkie guy, I just thort that it was weak and simple) but the actual g-man ending made up for it. I liked it. I'm talking about GAMEPLAY at the end.

The last chapter was crap.
I LOVED the modded phys gun, but that was the only redeeming gameplay feature bout the final chapter. The rest was done years ago with doom and mario. Bang bang, boooing.

It was pretty special so at first i was a bit confused but now i ****ing rockz :D. Just hope the we wont be needing to wait another 6 years for HL3 :)
