spore confirmed for wii

The Wii is about as powerful hardware-wise as a PS2, so don't expect anything special.

My point still stands; any modern computer will run it better than a Wii will, hence a Wii will need a optimised version that skips a lot of stuff unless the developers want to make a version specifically for it.

I was all into spore until they decided to make it "cute".

and in other news Will Wright says the Wii is the only next gen console and the 360 and PS3 are essentially the same thing with nicer graphics. He also says he gets better graphics on his PC than the PS3 can offer. His 360 gathers dust while he uses the Wii much more often. His input method of choice however is still the mouse.

I agree with Cheomesh, the new look completely turned me off as well.

Did they remove the procedural programming from Spore? The whole idea of procedural programming contradicts rapstah's hypothesis of massive cuts for the Wii version. I don't follow the game though so that very well may or may not be true.

A game that's supposed to be based around evolution needs a certain level of brutality, yes.

Well, I haven't seen anything on it lately. Did they remove the ability to attack and eat other creatures or something?

No, but eyeballs and fuzzy eyelashes on my protozoa sort of kills suspension of disbelief.

Yes.

Now you do a predefined animation, causing the other creature to flash, a negative number flash above his head, he loses a set number of HP, and when the HP is gone he explodes and leaves you with some kind of energy nugget.

EPIC LOSS OF CUSTOMER: CHEOMESH.

If theotherguy's summary is accurate... sad me.

I mean I wasn't super-excited for this, but if they're scrapping all the semblance realism from it, whats the damn point?

Eyelashes on protozoa... rofl
