Who is developing Spore? I hear a lot of people talking about it, but have no clue what it is.

Will Wright of Sim [Whatever]/The Sims fame is lead developer on it, so you know it's going to be of at least a certain quality from the start.
 
I changed the name to the Spore Discussion Thread since that's what it's more likely to be.
 
I'm probably the only one not hyped to hell about this. Then again, i've never read much into it...

Seen info on this in PC Gamer UK and i must say it looks exceedingly cool. A whole universe for you to create and shape as you see fit, definately worth a :bounce:
 
now i have heard that it is coming out third quarter 2006, can anybody verify this?

I just about creamed my pants when I first read about the game. It was like... no way, this is too good to be true. I felt like a kid again, anticipating a game sooo badly.
 
I can't wait to try out some Intelligent Designs with this one! Oh wait...;)

Seriously though, I can't wait for this game. Will most likely change the face of "God" games....

Same here.
The creation of the creatures will probably keep me hooked for hours... I can only imagine what the game itself'll be like.
 
I know the first creature I make when I get Spore is going to be an Alien(s) rip off :p
 
I'm going to make a race of balls. I hope I can make them bounce around instead of walk...

Except Spore goes a lot farther and has a lot more freedom.
 
I should really avoid these threads until it's close to coming out.
 
The designers of Spore have in interview stated that it'll be coming out Q2-Q3 2k6 afaik, and apparently there'll also be a console port of it for one of Microsoft consoles, I heard XB1 but I think it'd be better on the XB360.
I'll probably get it for PC tho.:)
I've been awaiting this since it was first announced.:D
 
I hate The Sims, it's a God damn Doll house. I imagine this'll be the same except you'd have the ability to make people eat via there anus and shit from there mouth.

It's a little bit of every genre out there.

Yes, When a Sim plays a computer game... it switches to a FPS.
 
Looking forward to Spore, but I'm also really looking forward to a new Sim City game, but Maxis hasn't announced anything yet. ;(

Haha - yeah, I'd like to do a similar thing with dinosaurs and stuff.. been excited about this ever since I first saw it in Edge ages ago :D
