Is that possible? Won't it be populated with your species, and those made by other people downloaded onto your computer automatically?

I thought that's how the planets get populated. Fabulous!

Let us not even mention Spore until it's a few months away from completion. The anguish of anticipation at this point amounts to torture.

I can't wait. I'm so gonna make Vortigaunts and Striders and Combine(oh my!) as well as my own unique creatures.

Edit: I was so excited about this game that I spent 3 whole hours streaming the 1.5 hour presentation video.

Oh my god... that video... the part when he demonstrates it like 11 minutes or so in... FREAKING AMAZING!

This game is going to be revolutionary. Not evolutionary, despite how fitting it would sound.

I just finished watching that video, and even despite the very annoying Um's of his... (he said uh a few times too, caught me off guard!), I was very impressed. I mean, I read about it a long time ago... but HOLY HELL. seeing it in action?

The favorite part for me will be creating all sorts of wildly fantastical creatures. Maybe a long winding multi veined centipede like creature with dozens of legs. man oh man!
 
I haven't heard a goddamn word about this game before this thread. WTF is everyone talking about? My head is so fabulously confused. Shouldn't you people get back to what matters -- hyping Duke Nukem Forever? :P

Edit: oh yeah, I remember now ... penny arcade had something to say about all of this.

I never liked The Sims, but I liked Sim City, until I ran out of money at least.

I'm looking forward to Spore though, it's...different.

ive watched the vid like 4 times.. it's like all my childhood activities(playdoe, sandbox,lego) all combined into one new technological package with the addition of self moveing objects and shapes(ai). weee!
 
This game cannot fail.
If it does... I've lost all faith in game development.
