Because Im going to do it too. Anyone one this forum that will play Spore will at some time make a Slug like race and call it the Combine. Then when they get to the space phase there going to conquer everything.

I can't wait! I wonder if you'll be able to make a Strider?
 
i wasn't going to do that, but now i will. i'm totally stealing your idea.
 
I'm doing you both one better and just downloading your creations from the Spore network thingy.
 
Bah. I'm going to do what I did with the Sims. Attempt to play the game properly, get bored, make a 'novelty' single sex society ("The Brightonians!"), get bored, remove a crucial exit point from something semi-dangerous, watch them all die and ebay the game a fortnight later.

Now that's entertainment!

I'm going to make a race of spheres.

They'll just roll around with no means of defense or reproduction and eventually die off.
 
I wonder if I can recreate the Xenians in spore? :D
 
Perhaps. Make the Vorts peacful. And make the Gargu...Garig... That big blue thing make it thuper evil. lol

I really don't think so. Probably something that's like 70% close to Humans but not Humans.

BTW, anyone ever play Impossible Creatures? Similar to Spore, kind of.. You get to combine up to 3 different animals.. It's pretty pimp.

I loved that game.
 
I will create a race of elephant cows. They'll be sort of like that. Big floppy ears, a cute rounded body... and an exaggerated cow snout with a trunk.
 
I'm totally making a race of brain worms.
 
I'm probably going to create a race of flying tigers! Kind of like the logo I need to design for my website, lol.

Oh yeah. I'm gonna try and make that cow that wants to be eaten. You know, the one in Restraunt at the End of the Universe.
 
I wonder how close I could get to making a race of sentient hat-like creatures. They'd start out relatively normal, their head becoming taller and more cylindrical with each evolutionary step, until they eventually grow beyond the need for a body or limbs, instead gravitating to and fro unaided, held aloft by sheer finesse. They'd shoot lasers from their eyes to accomplish menial tasks such as preparing food and signalling taxis, and their mating ritual would consist of compliments involving the word 'snazzy' (something not to be said lightly in badhatian culture). Also, the social heirarchy would be arranged according to how many buttons and other knickknacks one could arrange about his or her person without becoming overburdened or unfashionable.

Someone needs to create a race of shoe people for me to ridicule from afar... and eventually be conquered by, due to the fact that floating about aimlessly and shooting lasers at things is not a hugely productive way to advance one's species.
 
A jellyfish race could look like hats.

There are going to be so many funky creations out there. But I'm sticking with realistic species. I wonder if you'll be able to negotiate with other tribes of different species in the tribal phase? Like if a separate race is attacking you harshly, you can ally with a third race that's not threatened by the race that's attacking you and you fight them together? That would be cool.
 
Does anyone know what limitations (if any) there are on the way you can make your creature look?
 
Well of course there’s limitations. You can't just make a giant blob with a thousand antlers. I don't know what they are but they exist.
 
You can make anything as simple or complex as you desire.
