Hey guys, I recently moved into my dorm. So far, it's been 2 days and my PC is loaded with spyware and adware. I use ad-aware and McAfee virus scan to get rid of most of the bs but the campus network must not be very secure or something like that. I can't use the Windows XP firewall because my ethernet card has to be bridged and when it's bridged, it doesn't give me the option to use the firewall. Are there any good, free, downloadable firewalls out there that work good? Are there any other ways to keep this shit off my computer? It sure as hell isn't me putting this stuff on my comp because I know better than to download anything like that. Please help :|

Either that or ZoneAlarm. And download Spybot, I guarantee it'll catch even more spyware/adware on your comp. Ad-aware misses a lot of things. Most people use Ad-aware and Spybot, try that.

I have forefox, I'll get zone alarm and spyboy though. Thanks ;)

spybot hasn't been updated in ages, your better off getting NAV (or mcaffee), Firefox/opera, and zonealarm. Don't forget to install windows updates (except SP2, ech)
