I totaly disagree. My expectations have been wiped clean and this puddle of shite has been oozed into it's place.

P.S. I didn't read the article, summarize anyone?

This initial taste of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. is enticing, mainly because it appears that GSC Game World has delivered on many of the ambitious features that were promised years ago. There's almost a palpable sense that you're not quite playing a game, but rather exploring an incredibly dynamic and dangerous world. We're excited at the prospect of adventuring and living in this world. It also doesn't hurt that the visuals have remained impressive.

Well, perhaps if you had read the article, you wouldn't be saying such unfounded things. Summarization: read the article, it's worth it.

33fps on a most likely powerful IGN rig? :| I hope it was just a spike or while recording footage.

Off to read the article. Thanks.

33 FPS was likely the capture rate they were recording a video at when they took that screenshot.

So as you said, they were likely recording footage.

Definitely buying this, though I didn't like the part about body armor, where a headshot killed instantly, but unloading clips into the armor didn't do much. WTF.

I'll definitely get this, though not sure I'll be purchasing it tbh, almost all of the devs of the game are leaving the company after the game is released, why? Because GSC has treated them very poorly, and I don't want to give money to the company when it won't go to the people who made it, and ESPECIALLY not when the company itself has treated the employees like SHIT.:\
Hard decision eh..

Well that's sort of the way armour's supposed to work...
It sounds intriguing, but... Well, I'm reserving judgement for the minute.
Does anyone have the min. req's?

Source?

Always have to be cautious on the internet, not saying your right or wrong, but I'd like a source before I jump to conclusions. :bounce:

Source? CBA to dig it up right now, but it's well-known on several of the STALKER websites, the company in charge of Metro 2033s official website even lists several STALKER devs as their main workers, and it's been confirmed in emails exchanged between Oblivion-Lost.de and employees at GSC games for example, so it's far from a jump to conclusions.:p

I just wonder what will happen to patches then?

Aye, I can also back this up - however, the differing work ethics in different parts of the world should be taken into consideration and not judged by Western standards, those Eastern Europeans work hard and get worked harder.

Well that's sort of the way armour's supposed to work...

It's not like body armor makes you invincible, unless you're shot in the head... You can't put on some armor and expect to live after someone unloads a few clips into your chest at point blank range.

I heard about that too, but that was a while back. I think it's been resolved now hence the near completion of the game.

Reading the play tests on both IGN and Gamespot have restored some of my confidence in STALKER, mainly because of it's RPG elements and the quality of AI. The environmental effects sound particularly interesting. Still don't know what happened to the graphics though, but I'd always sacrifice graphics for good game play.

Looking forward to a playable demo soon!

clarky, erm, it was resolved back then, they've already pretty much prepared everything, the biggest people from the team are leaving upon the games completion to work on Metro 2033, which is basically STALKER + new settings + the things STALKER was supposed to have, such as all the survivalist elements.:)

what are going to be the requirements?

btw I hav been reading a litle and I see ther eis still much stuff they didnt abandoned
