Which one should I buy and why?

Stalker, playing that now. It started a little slow and took me some time to look passed some of its problems but once you do its a really good game. Very eerie game.

STALKER would have been much better if it had come out years ago like it should have. Medieval II: Total War is a hell of a lot of fun and also a great game. Get the latter.

Ever play Lords of the Realm? (the latest entry was horrible :X)

There's a few other entries into the genre but none of them compare in any way.

STALKER, haven't played it yet, but if you are gonna get a total war game, get Rome: Total War, its has an edge over Medievil imo.

The total war games are about as replayable as they come, so if you have played the other games and liked them I would get it. The latest patch really helped the game a lot too.

I have to go with Stalker because of it's atmosphere and gameplay but the bugs in that game are crap.

If you already have Rome: Total War. Then get STALKER. Medieval 2 is great, but its not a whole lot different than Rome. So if you already have Rome then get STALKER, because thats a great game too.

Lords of the Realm 2 was my first PC game. I'd love if M2TW took some features from it(declaring war through diplomacy, sending hate mail to the other lords etc.)

Go with M2TW + Lands to Conquer mod.

vanilla game is pretty meh compared to some of the stuff i've seen changed.
