Rumour 2. Vehicles have been removed from the game.

Partially correct. The use of vehicles is limited. Why? In a nutshell, back again, to let you have fun of playing the game and not the irritation. Speaking in more detail, point one: ideology- and gameplay-related. Driving around the Zone is not comfortable by its nature. Anomalies. While running you still can react to detector beeping and stop, however driving a car virtually guarantees you certain death. It may be OK to drive into ‘Trampoline’ – you will simply get hurled away, but when stuck in ‘Carousel’ or ‘Gravi’ – be sure there’s no escape.

oooh sounds interesting ..get stuck in an anomilie and either get hurled into the air, smashed into the ground, or spun around till you're (I'm guessing here) ripped to shreds?

more rumours debunked:

- sleep is still in
- eating, hunger and drinking still in
- vehicles still in (limited use)
- the game has scripted elements but are only enabled after certain conditions are met ...like in Oblivion

I have to admit this does make me feel a bit better ...however this doesnt sit so well with me:

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. has been in production for a long time. Will make it 5 years overall. On S.T.A.L.K.E.R. we made every possible mistake one could make. Every possible fault to do was done. This is why we are not fuming to see indignant threads on forums – we’re to blame after all. Once the project is done we could release a book ‘The ways you don’t want to make your games’. Why so long and what are the reasons? The most correct answer would be – it is very big and complex. 5 years ago nobody on the team had experience to create a project of such level, and “experience is a son of tough mistakes” as the saying goes

should have waited till you had something at least close to playable before firing up the hype-machine

Sort of good news, but I can envision the "final build" being buggy as hell when it releases. Hopefully the mod teams can make some really useful fun out of it if it fails as the game it was meant to be.

- sleep is still in
It says sleeping is gone and will only happen in cut-scenes. Darn you getting my hopes up that this could still be an awsome survival game!

Told you :) Anyway good news for the people who believed they canceled the game after a e3 showing lol.

oops sorry, you're right

Well atleast eating and stuff is in...

I'm still disappointed that it won't be a seamless game anymore though.
Load screens ftl.

Seamless was one of the first things that dissappeared like one or two years ago or so.:p
So that's no big dissappointment for me..
Hopefully, if STALKER does well(or okay) they can do STALKER2, hopefully with the A-Life engine finished, it means that they can get the sequel out quicker, because from what I've read the Artificial Life engine and balancing it, squashing bugs etc, took up most of the dev time..
I know it's too early but I really hope they get the chance to do a STALKER2 and then make it more like the first was supposed to be, a survival game where you HAD to eat and sleep regulary.:p

What's the trouble with sleep happening in cutscenes? Wasn't that the plan in the first place?
Surely they weren't originally planning to have a "feature" where your screen goes black for eight hours?

yes ..well maybe not 8 hours ..but they said you could be attacked while sleeping ...I think it was going to be something along the lines of Oblivion sleep (your timer ticks away so that sleeping 12 hours goes by in seconds)

Good to see that the game hasn't been raped nearly as much as it looked like. I really didn't care for sleeping, and I can live with loading screens. Just as long as the atmosphere, open-ended world, and gameplay stay the same.

However, after all these delays and disappointing hype, I have a feeling that it'll end up a financial flop. Would be a damn shame.

And what about the whole "forum archived - game dead" rumor?

Wasn't that actually a fact? I know I saw it with my own eyes ...

Yeah but there was also a fact that that was a HACK.:p

This game is really starting to remind me of Soeldner. It sounded great, until a playable version was released to the public... Though that game still has a decent following after a billion patches.

I think Stalker will turn out alright, but not the awesome game is originally proclaimed itself as. I doubt they'll get enough support for a sequel however.

STALKER is gonna the poster child for bad. When a team says they made every mistake possible, you know for a fact you're gonna get an unpolished, buggy, not play-tested pos.

good news, but i hope they not delay it again
I think even the dumbest retarded commie pig can understand that one more delay will DEFINITELY kill this game, so I doubt they dare.:D

Heh, I'm sure the game won't be as bad as Soldner or Boiling Point.
*wishful thinking*

I'm willing to give it a chance. It looks like the team finally has things in order.

Well in Morrowind you could be attacked while sleeping, which would wake you up, so maybe theyll do something like that?
