STALKER will be better than HL2 esp. after this delay.. check this out

Stalker still has to win me over with some great gameplay, so It will be a while before I have any real opinion.
Granted, HL2 hasn't come out so I can't profess to know that the gameplay is awesome either, but its just that I put so much more faith in Valve when it comes to that.

HL2 has that list covered. Plus theres no telling what they have instore for us with all the stuff they arent showing. Oh and about the mods there are over 200 announced for hl2 and your sayin that isnt a huge fan base? Not putting stalker down but u sayin the fan base for it is bigger than hl2s is just retarded.

stalker might be ncie and i sure will buy it, but what counts for me is whether how good it's moddable and how good the community support is gonna be. that's what most ppl love valve for.

btw: an online "single" player mode like introduced in stalker is nothing new, system shock2 already had it, though many games are missing this nice feature.

Personally I think the story is great. It's a bit like Fallout (one of the best RPGs of all time) except in first person. Post-Apocolyptic stuff is great!

Stalker looks pretty dull, walk around large empty enviroments maybe encountering an enemy every 30 minutes, you see I'm sure the team are good programmers but that doesn't make them good game designers which is a big problem in todays industry, too many people with technical talent but no creative talent.

I was naive to think that no game could be as interesting to anticipate as HL2. I'm buying this, if only because the entire game is one big map. I love it when games have a hyper-realistic level layout and no mission screens.

Well, no. The two engines are different, one is made by the S.T.A.L.K.E.R team (X-ray engine) and the Source engine is made of course by ValVE. Saying they're using almost the same engine is false, as they are two different things, each will support things the other doesn't.

And IMO, S.T.A.L.K.E.R looks a shitload better in both Graphics and Story (not that HL2 is bad, it just doesnt seem to compare). But i'm really into HL2 for the mods/multiplayer anyway. :afro:
