Star Wars DVD screencaps showing Hayden replacing Shaw in ROTJ

Dear god...this makes me think of the southpark episode "Free Hat"

I'm not really suprised, he has already ****ed up Episode I and II.

I still don't see why everyone's complaining. You already have the originals, why would you want to purchase what was essentially the same movie? This is like the ultimate director's cut.

These new additions seem to help rather than hinder, and makes the original trilogy connect with the prequels more seamlessly. But I think I'm the only one who thinks so.

We wouldn't care if we could just get the damn original cuts on DVD...you can't even find them on VHS anymore. Maybe when Lucas dies or something.

I don't see why they can't include the old versions as well, like in the Terminator 2 DVD.

Maybe because the original prints were destroyed or something. They mentioned something about that on the Special Edition box set.

these new additions seem fine i suppose. i just wish i could get hold of the original and unchanged original trilogy on DVD, because you know whenever they show SW on the telly it's gonna be this new revamped stuff :(

Ironically Return of the Jedi has seen the least changes out of the three and these aren't the final editions. Some ultimate editions due in 2007/2008 ergh...

Episode IV: A New Hope DVD:

* Light Sabers changed for Vader versus Ben Kenobi Death Star duel.
* TractorBeam control now in Aurebesh.
* Han and Greedo scene slightly changed (everyone's seen this).
* Jabba the Hutt redone from Special Edition Jabba.
* Boba Fett still mugs camera.
* Han still steps on tail - "You're a wonderful human being" - still there.
(The scene is an improvement over the SE - however, still not great.)

I'm scared of how everything is being replaced with CGI, but I'm also happy that continuity errors and mistakes with the effects (like the matte lines and lightsaber shadows) are being fixed.

I hope this works out for the best.

Well, there are a few bits that make me cringe, but going back and altering stuff just pisses me off.

Imagine if Leonardo had gone back to alter the Mona Lisa numerous times... the human race could possibly have been robbed of the masterpiece the exists today.

Why can't he just get is CGI addicted fingers off the classics.., c'mon.. this is not cool

Is he breaking it, or making it better?

All of the scenes are still there; all of the dialogue is still there. He's just making it look more pretty, while adding new scenes to better attatch the old trilogy to the new one for continuity.

I for one am interested in these alterations and additions. But I agree that they should have included the original cuts as well (so that true DVD collectors can be happy).

im very interested to see these. I hope he doesnt screw up indiana jones next.
