please post other source if possible, need non-hyperspace links

Its amazing.

I am uploading a slightly downgraded quality version as we speak (7MB).

Linky coming soon!

My expectations are rising very quickly on this one. They're still realistic, but they're rising.

I'm really looking forward to that confrontation between Anakin and Obi-wan. Looks like it'll be quite the fight, and Ewan McGregor looks like he might pull a pretty good performance there. Although, maybe it's not wise to put expectations for a performance into just one line("You were the chosen one!").

i'm looking forward to Palpatine fighting off the Jedi Council members and Anakin destroying the Jedi Academy

The one I downloaded was 50 mb. I'll try to find it again in the morning.

I have never been this excited. I actually got goosebumps during the trailer? Wow.

One word I can find for this that perfectly sums the trailer and most likely the movie up in one fell swoop: mediocre. Nice try Lucas, better luck next time.

Sounds like the prequels before this have destroyed your optimism for good. :(

I thought that the trailer was well done. There's a dark aura to the whole thing, and since we can already piece together some of the important plot points, it made the effect even better.

And

snow = great

Episode V was the only Star Wars episode with snow in it, and look how well that one did. A sign of good things, or am I being overly Canadian about this? ;)

Yes, the prequels basically ruined my faith in George Lucas and the others working on the films. I believe the reason Star Wars has become so...poor over recent films is not only technology, but atmosphere.

Star Wars was originally a fun, relatively lighthearted movie series that never took itself too seriously. There were plenty of jokes here and there, and even though the plot did get heavy in some places, the series never lost its atmosphere. It was a reliving of childhood fantasy, I think.

Now, with the new Star Wars movies, we have wars, giant robots, and characters that are too generic for their own good. The charm has been replaced with seriousness, the jokes are gone, and the style is gone. Star Wars always had an identifiable style in its direction - not so much in terms of camera angles or lighting, but in mood and atmosphere. The atmosphere has disappeared in the last two movies.

To surmise, I don't think Star Wars should be about huge armies and dark characters, or political schemes and massive space battles. The series was never anything amazing (although technically superb for its time), but it was the sum of all parts that made it so good. Now, something in the equation is missing. Whether it be likeable and identifiable characters or the substitution of plot and originality with special effects, I think that Episode III, like its prequels, will be, simply put, "generic."

Damn my monologues.

Well said.

I also think the first two prequels were unsuccessful because they didn't have much story to them. There wasn't an actual "war" until the end of the second movie. But this is why I have a feeling that this one will be so much better. It has a story to tell (the end of the jedi, and ones transformation to the dark side), there is a war (what the old trilogy had to drive it), and it seems more tailored to adults and fans of the original (no childish humor or long akward romance scenes). It even looks like more effort has been put into this one, in the acting, the drama, and the atmosphere.

You now have Stormtroopers, you have the inclusion of Wookies, the droids are becoming central characters again; many of the things that are recognizable and beloved by fans of the original are here in Episode III. :D
It's almost as if Lucas had to make the first two in order to properly tell the third, which may be most interesting of the three. :E

I don't hold out any hope for this movie being like the originals, because thats not the kind of story they're trying to tell. It looks like it may be good in its own way though.

Not exactly looking forward to it, but i'm sure i will enjoy watching it.

Yeah, you're right. There was a good element of fun in the earlier films. I remember watching all three of them a while ago after I hadn't seem them for a few years, and I had forgotten how fun they were.

I don't feel a thing for the characters in the new movies. I couldn't care less if they live or die.

I just watched the trailer with my 4 year old son. Hes laughing at my enthusiasm over this movie. I am almost 40 and i cant wait for this movie. I hope for me it makes up for the last two installments which i thought were mediocre.

I watched, and practically lived, the Original Trilogy for many many years when I was a child (born in '76). There wasn't a single story/movie/comic/show that gripped me tighter than the Star Wars Universe did at that time. Was it because the OT was so much better? Partly, but mostly because I was a kid with a huge imagination and Star Wars was a new world to explore.

All of a sudden I'm in my mid twenties and they release more Star Wars movies. How can a twenty something attach the same feelings to Star Wars that a kid could? It's impossible. In my opinion the new movies could have been better than the originals and I still wouldn't feel the same magic I did as a kid. Adults just don't have that same type of imagination that they did as kids.

I'm not saying that the new movies are as good artistically, far from it. I'm just saying that even if they were better, adults still might not feel as strongly as they did as kids.

Oh yeah and the trailer looks awesome.

okay I was born in '85 and I can still remember watchin the starwars films on video, not old enough to go to cinema on my own, but still. I remember the merchandise as well, I had an X-wing and snowspeeder. I got all the PC starwars game bar 'rebel assault 2','yoda's story' and the one featuring you as Dash Render (forgot the title)

Crap, i was thinking Kyle Katarn. Bugger.

I enjoyed shadow of the empire, especially fighting IG 88 in the scrapyard.
