Most tempting Kamikazie...

IMO there can be no better Star Wars game than Jedi Knight 2. Perhaps if they combined the technology of the Force Unleashed with the superior gameplay of JK we would get a Star Wars game worth buying.

Im buying it this friday.

Yeah. Me, Rizzo, buying a starwars title.
But god, I want to slap George in the face.

I just got done playing it and finished it. The story could seriously be called Star Wars 3.5, it just added so much information between the trilogies. As for the gameplay it's decent, nothing to write home about, but decent. The powers is what made me excited to play it. I understand that throwing shit is last gen, but to put some lightning in the mix and throw it at an enemy just gives me a little happiness inside. Some problems that I had was that the FPS dropped once in awhile, but mostly when it was taking me to a new part of the level and when you're battling multiple enemies there are times that you can't get up for a good while, which ends up taking away most of your health.

BUT! The story is what really grabbed my attention from the get go. I suggest that if you have an interest in the franchise, but you don't want to buy it, RENT IT! The characters that you fight... are amazing, but what takes the cake is the ending. Both of them.

Can you tell me the ending (in spoilers) I'd like to know. Is there a choice at the end?

ENDING SPOILER

There are two endings kind of like the GTA endings. There is the heroic ending and the revenge ending. But before both of them you fight Darth Vader, twice. For the good ending you fight the Emperor and for the bad ending you fight Vader again.

If you want more let me know. I don't really want to spoil the WHOLE thing, but that's just the jist of it.

More please, I will not get to play this game because I don't have a console.

MAJOR ENDING SPOILER

The good ending starts out with you fighting the Emperor and almost killing him. The rebel prisoners that were captured by Vader are told to escape by the hero who is lightning locked with said Emperor. As they escape with the love interest pilot the hero is killed and the Emp and Vader discuss how the hero could have taken the Emp's place.

The bad ending starts with jumping down and starting a 3rd fight with Vader. Once you kill him the hero jumps up to were the Emp is and he tells the hero to kill a jedi that he was supposed to kill earlier, but only made him blind. So he takes his saber and turns it on the Emp but then he throws him out a window to which the love interest is trying to pick him up with the ship, but the Emp grabs the ship and slams it into the hero. Not killing him, but turning him into some robot killing machine.

I played the full game at my local Gamecrazy, not the demo shit, they actually had the full game on display. I played it, I thought it was pretty cool and cinematic... but it's just too easy and a bit repetitive, although throwing a Jawa five thousand feet in the air never gets old.

So in the bad ending he actually kills Vader? So only the Good ending is canon?

If you know a place that has the cinematics I can view, let meh know.

They didn't have them before, but now they do, than- heyyyyy smart ass.

They are of poor quality though :(

Okay I just watched the Dark Side Ending-

Very stupid, and makes no sense. So the emperor ****s you up, then rebuilds you, then tells you you're going to do some things for him, and right after telling you that he has the droids kill you.

WTF?

No, he tells the droids to finish the rebuilding process

Oh okay, good, otherwise that seemed pretty wtf

so I assume he is kind of programming him to do his will?

**** I hate spoilers... I have a hard time not clicking them!

Anyone know if the cheat LIGHTSABER with effect "Unlocks Deadly Saber" Is the same as in Jedi knight, with limbs coming off, I whould be very pleased if it was so.

Yeah, but since you got the game, could you check it out? In Jedi knight it was called "saberrealisticcombat" so this could be it right?

Crap. I actually looked forward too this game with being evil and all, but with the whole no dismemberment thing, it won't be as enjoyible.

I've spent this whole time trying to kill 200 wookiees, which I did, and I got to the end of the level where you fight a jedi. I killed him with 2 saber strikes, so that's what the cheat does. Amplifies the saber, just like it said.

I could take him in a fight. I'll use my fake lightsaber, and use it like the apprentice does, all backwards and shit.

Then cut off your arm? If that does happen, you could beat him to death with your bleeding nub.

Meh, when I first saw it I thought it would be epic but it does look stupidly repetitive now. Ive already done all the force chocking, throwing people about etc with the Jedi Knight games.

I actually like the bit I played in the full game. What's new is that you have full control of where the target goes when you force throw something- it's not like it just goes towards an enemy. What's also hilarious is grabbing a stormtrooper, and having him grab onto a friend, and then you see 2 troopers flailing in the air. It never gets old.
Euphoria physics rocks.

Played it over a friend's today, it's cool and I love the story but the gameplay is VERY repetitive.

One of the things that really bothered me was the instant vanishing of broken debris and freshly killed enemies.
Made it feel very PS2 ish.

No, they stay on the ground for a few seconds. :(

I bought it, beat it, and honestly I love this game. The ending was a bit meh, but epic nonetheless. The game just makes you feel so badass.

On the 3rd level (I think) and this game is ****ing shit, don't think I'll bother finishing it.

Finished playing it last night. For story, art direction, along with uneven but occasionally inspired gameplay, I'll give it a 7/10. Actually, I'll bump it to 7.5 for the inclusion of a Wilhelm Scream.

All in all, nothing too amazing. My biggest complaint is all the crappy QTE action. The whole game just seems like it took all the depth of what was traditionally a PC gaming franchise and threw it out for shallow console play.
