Starcraft 2 officially delayed until 2010...

AW WTF!

Eh, whatever. Starcraft 1 is still awesome. I'll live.

It isn't like Starcraft is outdated anyway. I can't even beat the comp yet without exploiting the AI's retardation. I'm pretty inept with RTS', it's usually just "lead in with a large group and raep".

Anyone got a somewhat accurate release date on D3?

I'm more excited for D3 because I got tired of being obliterated by Koreans on Blizzard RTS games.

That's why you don't play with random people online. :E

Dammit. Looks like I will be lurking the forum for another year. Well at least it means it wont be a umbalanced peice of s***.

This thread is one minute in front of Stern's thread.

Sedako, you beat Stern.

I hope you're happy.

So totally not surprised though.

Boo to you Blizzard, boo to you.

You cut up the SP into 3 games to get it out faster and now delay it until mid 2010!

Yet even though the delay is a publishing decision rather than development based they won't combine the campaigns. Guaranteed.

Still earlier than if all 3 campaigns would be together!

It sucks, but we'll have a better game for it still. And there's also the beta this summer to look forward to (though they only have another month to hit the target of "summer" I believe) so some of us will be playing it early. I hope I'm one of them!

Only a moron would think it would come out in 2009

Well jesus christ thanks man. I suppose I shouldn't trust the words of game developers though.

btw, it actually annoys me that the front page of battle.net for Asia network is in Korean only. Every time I enter battle.net, I get startled by a block of Korean words which I don't understand. Can't there be a front page in Chinese? Or at least an English front page for China region?

That is because of Korean superiority. I am sorry that you are so inferior.

:P (Just kidding)

Anyway, I didn't realize that, actually. I thought it would change according to IP.

Well that sucks only because they said that SC2 was going to be released before Diablo 3.

Or has that changed?

Sigh...

Normally, you'd get an infraction for bypassing the "word" filter but since you're Korean, this is pretty much a national tragedy for you.

Read the Kotaku article. The delay has to do with Battlenet, not SC2 itself.

Wait, when was SC2 even confirmed as coming out this year?

I'm not butthurt. I don't even like starcraft anymore!

They were saying they were pushing for a 2009 release. It was never said that it would happen.

I actually expected this. I'm a little sad due to the fact that it's freaking StarCraft 2, but I'm also a bit happy, as bnet2.0 will be that much better.

...

I WANT THE GAME NOW GIMME GIMME GIMME GIMME!!!!

Some more news that could potentially turn sour, though not exclusive to SC2. Activision slime-ball Bobby Kotick has stated that Battle.net 2.0 will be "similar to Xbox live". What this means for us is unknown for the time being, but I'm really not liking the comparison, especially coming from Kotick.

It's not complex at all.
Where'd you hear that?

uh oh. I dont like where this is going either. I am sure there is more to it than social networking.

I'm not excited about Battle.net 2. Just screw it Blizz and give us StarCraft 2. That's what we really want. Stop trying to convince yourself otherwise...

I don't like this direction either.

I figure he is just saying what we've been told the entire time. They are trying to find ways to monitize bnet2.0 Find ways to make you pay for something. Nothing REQUIRED, but the extra goodies will probably cost ya.

Works for me, I never fell into that sort of thing.

I am aware of the reason for the delay, but that doesnt mean I don't get to moan about promises of having it out faster because cutting up the SP will save time!

Can someone explain what's so complex about this game?

That Blizzard HQ will be bombed off the face of the earth by the South Korean Airforce if they screw up this game. :p

The reasons for splitting the SP up isn't just speed, but also to give you more content per campaign. If you look at the original campaign, 10 missions really go quick when you know what you are doing. Most of the story was between missions, and even then wasn't that much. You had to read the books and what not to even get what most of the story had to offer. With this 30 missions per campaign, that will be much more story intensive, giving the usual person a more attached feel to the story.

Hell, they are just now wrapping up the first campaign, imagine where they would be if they had to do all 3 races :p

The campaign split up will never be justifiable, imo.
They just want more money, that's all there is to it.

Agreed, unfortunately.

Nevertheless Blizzard is my god and i worship blizzard effigies at my house at night.

I'm certain this game will kick absolute ass.

That's all in the eyes of the beholder.

Having 30 Terran missions, 30 Zerg missions and 30 Protoss missions from Blizzard themselves, seems justifiable to me. Who cares if they are getting profit, if I'm getting extra enjoyment out of it, so be it.

B.net is free. If they try to make people pay for it, SC2 is ****ed. Blizzard has enough money from WoW subscriptions; why do they need more?

I bow to your understanding, good sir. *bows*

If every expansion is a reasonable price($30 at most) and if Bnet remains completely free then I'll have no problems.
