Stargate MOD anyone?

Alright peeps,

I was just wondering if there were any other Stargate fans out there who'd like to see a MOD of their favourite TV series? I think there was a MOD team working on a MOD using the UT2K3 engine but it must have died becuase I've heared nothing of it.

I think that game engines are getting to the point where they could really do the series justice.

What do you lot think?

a mod would be cool, you could do a lot of stuff with stargate.

I love Stargate and the series.

There were a couple of mods for Hl actually, but none of them get very far.

I hope someone does MOD it. Plenty of material to leach from, and that's from just Stargate : SG1, not Stargate : Atlantis. I'll keep my fingers crossed

Yeah! I love stargate too! And a mod would be awesome! Just remember to email them and ask if you can make a mod of it for HL2. They might say yes since there already is a mod of it for HL. And if you need any help, i'll gladly help, but I can't really do anything except be your PR guy, or something.

Well, not all companies are so tight on permision. Think about how many stargate games are about....None, at least as far as I remember. If the company has no interest in making a game, then generally they don't seem bothered about mods. Some companies are just nicer about the whole thing anyway really.

Yeah... Have you ever played the SG mod for HL? It's awesome! I can't wait to see an SG mod in the source engine! It would be sooo awesome!

Agreed, it's a very rich universe with lots of mod potential. Someone should do this.

I played a couple of Stargate mods, one of them had pretty much nothing at all apart from a map and the other had a few weapons, some of them unskinned, as well as some maps.

Yeah.. so... Wanna start a mod team? i'm getting faster internet in a few weeks, so i'll try to get a webserver up. I would be able to host stuff.

Heh...But who would make it. We don't have a coder, AKA Spawn of the gods themselves. :O


I would actually be interested in doing this though. However, my skillsx) are really in mapping. I could do concept stuff I suppose, and "ideas" /story. Heh, it could be fun. Maybe we can talk about this in more depth if you are interested. Still the chance of being shut down is ever present.

there's a stargate mod for morrowind in development, it's shaping up nicley.

Ah yes, I had forgotten about that. I rarely look at morrowing mods now, apart from Middle earth mod. Maybe I will take another look...Morrowind wind still certainly looks good enough

Yeah, but it doesn't have any multiplayer capabilities

Not exactly...But the middle earth team at least have found a way of including multiplayer. I'm not sure where they are at with that, but Morrowind with multiplayer really does sound interesting.
