It sucks! I got it off PCGUK.

The guns feel weak and inaccurate.
The enemies take about one second too long to kill.
The FPS is lower than... the temperature.. in...my fridge or something.
The character models clip through rocks and the walls.
Enemy NPCs are infinitely stupid and will stop chasing you if you hide behind a rock. They will also not see you if you are past a trigger point.
Illogical missions. (e.g. You have a small army at your disposal but you are ordered to go alone to a bug-infested crash site to pick up some irrelevant item.

In conclusion, if the game isn't better by release, this game will flop.

well i'm very bored so i'll d/l it, 3dgamers btw is faster than gs for it..

i downloaded 1 demo already today which sucked(fifa 2006) so i hope this is better...

I'm installing this right now :hmph:, but I'm a Pro Evo 4 guy anyway, so I was expecting it to suck. EDIT@18:53 - It does suck, uninstalled already.

I had a hunch this game would be one of those badly made generics, but I'll wait for more reviews.

I loved the movie too, so I had high hopes for this game. I was extremely let down.

qft. me too, uninstalled twice(twice coz i reinstalled it to give it a final go)

yes it sucks, cant even change the res, wtf is that about? it just doesnt feel right, players looks terrible. pro evo owns them, their hair in particular just look like blobs, their proportions also are terrible and from a semi-far distance the low res versions of players are almost indistinguisable from each other, i had heard some good things about it, people said it felt like pro evo or at best pro evo 'light' but meh, feels shite imo...

it has some good things like the commentary, chants and inparticular the goalie animations rule....thats about it...:x

halfway complete with this d/l....
 
I'll give it a try. Let's see if it as sucky as right about everyone says.

just finished it, very meh, definately not the fear demo anyway....

pros: bugs looked good, erm yeah thats about it
quite a big number on screen...

cons:
worst thing was the sound, it was awful, i was using my headset as usual but the sound was awful, couldnt hear my weapon half the time, the bugs dont make any noise at all hardly, they just charge at you, its pretty brainless, the music also looped for me at a certain point and wouldnt stop till i reached a checkpoint...

music suks too, the other soldiers spout out these awfully cheesy lines voiced by woeful voice actors..

also the 2nd bug charge is a bit disappointing, theres more bugs than before but for some reason you can only start killing them when you get to a certain point on the gantry over looking them, i was firing like mad at them and nowt was happening, i was thinking wtf?? ah i havent walked over to that magic invisible marker....you also can only kill the ones inside the base that jump over or the ones very close, some seem to be invincible until a certain scripted 'ok my turn to jump over the wall' point...:dozey:

For a really sexy demo, check out Fahrenheit. That is a game worthy of checking out, even if you end up hating it.
 
Cool, I remember this game from way back when... good to see it again, and it's a DEMO!

UGGH im stuck at the part after you get the cell and mine field and about 5000000 bugs come at me- do i just run? because its hard to kill em all. Help plz.

did u get the shotgun?

north of the crash site( just about 5 feet away from the second thing you haveto pickup at the site) is a shotgun, get that, 1 shot will kill them, alt fire is twinshot, also use your grenades, its hard enough but get the shottie....

Rather disappointing demo indeed...
The guns sound so sissy-ish and feel really weak, and the bug ai is glitchy.. they get stuck in walls and stuff.

The graphics are fine, meh...don't know what else to type.

I just hope the game gets patched up and polished a bit better before release.
 
What the hell is wrong with the mouse in this game?

I was going to say all the things you mentioned, however I didn't notice the model clipping.

However to add it all up I experience mouse lag, as for the irrelevant mission items, it would of helped if you had some backup. I do hate the weapons, like you said they don't pack quite a punch (you would probably do better at melee just wearing boxing gloves) , and the sound quality is awful (I want to hear the shotgun and rifle blasts from the film, not shite like this).

I'm just hoping someone can make a Starship Troopers mod for either Source or the modified Quake 3 engine (Call of Duty), now the Call of Duty AI would suit the AI for your squad members (meat for the grinder like they say)
 
Meh. I pretty much agree with Reginald, a very disappointing demo indeed.

The movie clip at the end looked very cool, so I haven't completely given up on this game yet. But what were they thinking when they had you do your objectives alone?
 
We got a shotgun that goes:
*Pump...Bang...Pump...Bang...Pump...Bang...Pump...Bang*

But I wanted Rico's trigger happy pumping
*Pang, Pang, Pang, Pang*

Theres a 2 second delay between shots, whilst Rico was able to pump out 4 shots in that time, and he didn't even have a auto-loader
