What did you guys think about it? I thought he talked WAY to much about the war...

He had a good speach and mentioned more than enough points. You can tell because all the Rs loved it and all the Ds mostly sat. I think he really made his position known and you will see a lot of ppl backing him but also a lot of shuffling around from the independants.

i agree with one of the analysts on TV...he laid out the battleground for the coming campaign...he challenged the democrats to come at him on certain issues...he invited attack because he's confident that he'll win.

but being a soon-to-graduate college student, i can't overlook the fact that it's going to be really hard to find a job. i know a lot of recently-graduated people and they're having a lot of trouble. i remember being really optimistic about being able to find a job when i started school, and now i'm afraid i'll be working some crap job in a few months :\

You know job loss is a delayed effect. Why the economy went down wasn't in bush's hands but rather previous administrations and the economy is even becoming stable. I'm not sure how much he had in that though.

i wonder WHY he focused on the war... oh, wait.

My friend's girlfriend's cousin was the little "two-year old...ten-year old" girl who wrote Bush the letter.

Maybe Bush didnt had any effect on that.
But you kind of worry after reading through this:Bushtalk (TM) VS Reality (TM)

yeah...most of that is true, too...i've seen his contradictions for myself...i didn't need a webpage devoted to it...but it's nice to see it all laid out.

last night he talked about tax cuts and how the economy is improving because of them...he also talked about medicare and perscription drug benefits. What he didn't touch on was the fact that middle class insurance premiums and other costs like it have increased more than that tax cut.

EDIT:

my favorite one is "fiscal responsibility"

“One of the ways we've got to make sure that we keep our economy strong is to be wise about how we spend our money. If you overspend, it creates a fundamental weakness in the foundation of economic growth. And so I'm working with Congress to make sure they hear the message -- the message of fiscal responsibility.” Bush, 9/16/02

reality is that Bush's administration has a ridiculously enormous budget deficit. then Republicans still accuse democrats of being fans of big government and increased taxes...it's just a flat out lie...amazing. Only in America will the press let soemthing like that go...nobody confronts the president with these kinds of contradictions...it's ludicrous.

A lot of spending is because of congress though too.
