Okay, the poll above is essential. With the release of Half-Life2 imminent who's to say that you will be fed up installing a possible 4-5 disk game. If you still use a CD-rom, will you be going over to DVD, or do you have other plans?

The only reason why not everyone has DVD drives is because games don't use them, I think people need to be forced into this so the people who have had DVD drives for years don't have to waste them any longer.

I have a DVD drive...i've had it over a year and only installed it in my pc about 3 months ago, it would'nt work in conjunction with my CD ripper so i thought "Oh great its f*cking broke" but didnt take it back..but when i bought DX:IW i just tried it on its own and it works heh....could that be the master/slave jumpers on the ROM's that does'nt allow them both to work together? I'm now stuck with a DVD and an unplugged CDRW so i can't even rip cd's anymore :(

I have 2 DVD-ROM drives but neither are in this PC currently. ;)
I took 'em out because I needed the bay space and no need has come up where I need them yet.

One of them is in my 2nd machine, My A/V capture/encoding/authoring beast.

when im forced to upgrade i will.....atm a dvd drive is useless to me.

DVD-RW
My only drive, who needs anything else?

DVD, why stoop down to the CD-ROM level?
