in science today I was thinking about flowers... strange, large flowers... i was imaging their genes and their reproductive system. Plus i saw some girls flying around the place- and apart from that it was pretty dark... just like being at the end of your existance. Strange echoes surrounded me for a time, but then it all faded into nothingness and i then i heard a voive calling me. My name echoed... once... twice... three times... "JAMES!!"

Immediately i leapt up, images flooding into my head- a classroom, my scruffy schoolmate drawing on his science book , some children staring at me from their desks. And in front of me stood my biology teacher, looking puzzled. Then everyone around her laughed.

I had been asleep for 25 minutes, the lesson was now over, and my teacher had been talking about plants and their genes for the whole lesson and had not once noticed that i was fast asleep on my work.

Apparantly everyone was laughing at the fact my teacher hadn't noticed i was asleep till now, not at the fact i had just woken up and was looking like a kangeroo that had just awaken to find itself at the bottom of the ocean. My teacher then said "go to bed earlier" and walked off. Giggles from all around the classroom echoed behind me... i smiled.

This is all due to the fact that i stayed up really late (arguing that scantily clad, curvacious night elves were better than guns over msn with crush 500 ;) ) and then reading the book that we were supposed to only read in english. Hey, lord of the flies is really interesting, it's not my fault if i accidently took my book home and read a couple of chapters ahead.

just to say... the "scruffy person" sitting next to me was Sulkdodds from this very forum, doodling his idea for the art contest

An air rifle is not a firearm!!! :O

And really late..? it was like quarter to 11

Yes, but i stayed up reading till 1 in the morning.. you just can't put a good book down ;)

My sleeping patterns still completely buggered since christmas - I go to bed still at around 1/2 and still struggle to get to sleep :( I just put on Little Britain and watch that all night :D

heh same but theres bugger all on terestrial tv so i lie in bed trying to recall all the bloody formulas i need for physics exam and i suddenly realsied how easy rearragning formulas was :p

hehe, i bought the season 1 DVD too. on the christmas holidays i don't go to bed till about 2 or 3... sometimes i watched a film with headphones on. The annoying thing is i can't do anything noisy because my parents are in the other room. The thing about staying up late is that i always get up about 1 in the afternoon and feel like i've wasted most of the day... i'd only spend it here anyway

Yeh I would always say "OK, I'm gonna get up at 10, nice an early start!" I'd wake up at about 10 (wierd how my body can just do that :O) and then close my eyes again. Only when I open them its 2 o clock and I feel really pissed off that I've wasted a whole day :( But like you said heh, only to come here anyway :(

I can wake up at 10 if I want to. I'm a damn heavy sleeper, but even if I've only been asleep since 7, the cellphone alarm will wake me up. It's just that annoying.

And it's not even the alarm anymore. You see, it starts going real quiet for a while before it builds up to full volume, but lately I'll find myself awakening to the very first beeps, just so I can leap across the room and switch the damn thing off before it starts in with the chiming.

God, I hate it. But it works :D

Anyway, not much use in waking up at 10 these days, it's holidays! Holidays from what, you ask? Good question :p

Edit - Haha, my avatar looks like he's pushing a shopping cart. Brilliant!

I was talking to Sulkdodds on the phone and a briliant idea came up.

macros for your body!

Ever have the feeling when you kinda want to do homework / something creative, but can never be bothered to start doing it? well what if you could just say a command and your body automatically gets up, looks for a pencil, arranges your equipment and saets you up, ready to work. It completely bypasses the first step- actually bothering to start doing anything! the same principles apply to getting out of bed, if you could flip a switch and your body "jumps" out of bed, there would be no chance of you just thinkin "i'll stay here 30 more seconds..." and ending up sleeping the day away.

I unfortunatly stay reguraly up til 2:00 am eve non schooldays, but I can't help it I just can't go to sleap, I'm more of a night person.

amen to that. The stupid thing is, i feel annoyed in the day because i feel like i'm wasting it, just sitting at my PC.. but as soon as it goes dark i feel fine, as it doesn't feel like i'm wasting my time anymore, just feels like i'm adding extra hours to my day lol ;)

This holiday I have completly f'ed up my sleeping patterns. I go to sleep at 6:30 average (When I start reading a good book I cant stop!). Schools starts monday so I will have to fix it until then.

lol nice one mate.

I allmost fell asleep in a decision maths lesson after school the other day...

I was just doesing off and the teacher asked me a question I have never learnt to answer before in my life.

I said "What this question?"

He said "yes... that question.."

I said "errr... how you do it? add up these numbers here?"

He said "Yes........"

I said "35"

He decided not to say anything else :p lucky me! :)

I think I am knackered because i normally fall asleep at about 3am minimum. :p

I used to work graveyard shift... now that messes with your sleeping pattern, in fact, going back to normal is really... weird lol

Or you could knick off with one of those home detention shock bracelets and hook it to a remote control. Tie it to your nads and see how the motivation just rushes through your phallus.

Descision maths? Are you doing Further Maths A-Level?
Didn't bother doing Further Maths when I was in school, just did ordinary Maths. Well I needed it to get into University, and it was quite fun at the time.
If you don't do further maths, you end up learning all about it at uni anyway :x

Aye enjoy it, and you'll be grateful for the long holidays, after all that exam work.

Hahahah, I can just picture bliink digging up corpses... or perhaps burying them.

I told you not to argue with him! His heart just couldn't take it :(

I'm a bit of a night owl myself- I often stay up into the morning. There's something wrong with me. If I get this DWP post, I'll be employed for the first time in months, and although I won't be broke I won't be getting any sleep either...

I just like the quitness of the night, the freedom, and no nagging people aroound me, I guess I like it cause it is only then that I can be truly myself.

My sleeppattern sucks, staying up till 3 and waking up around 12-14... :(
Sucks, ruins the next day, but I can't force myself to go to sleep, and I can't force myself either to get out of bed the next morning... :(

But I really should stop going to bed at 3.00 when I have to work the next morning and have to wake up at 5:30 :D

My friend in almost all of my classes has (not exaggerating here) slept through just about every class he has ever had since the first day of school. (This year.)

The teachers gave up on him after the first week of school. He just sleeps and takes tests. The thing is, he is an average C student and he doesn't even know we'll have a test until its in his hands.(He's extremely smart, thats mostly why the teachers leave him be.)

Sometimes he even gets creative and brings a small pillow. Once, for a joke, he came with a teddy bear and quilt. That didn't go over to well with the teacher but anyway.

I never sleep in class, always feel like I'll get raped or something while I sleep

yep, my teachers have a similar mentality with me. I rarely pay attention or participate, but I get high grades (A's and B's) on everything and I do my homework (regardless of the fact that I do it the class beforehand) so they don't really bother to do anything about it.

Apparently I'm smart, and I figure out how to do stuff on tests, or something.

now that is funny.

I don't usually but there have been times... especially in Spanish class, since it's sixth period, the desks are suitable for sleep and my sweatshirt is so warm.. and soft... and comfy... zzzzzzz.

I was reading plato's dialogues last night, I bought them a year or two ago and wasn't interested but I stayed up till after midnight going through Euthyphro, Phaedo, the Apology, the Republic, and others.

Socrates was an excellent arguer and manipulator, the Apology is amazing.

Yeah, that's basically me and 15 other kids in my class. The thing is, we just sit and daydream or read or something. This guy is straight unconscious and he shows no interest whatsoever. In many cases it seems like he tries to slap the teachers in the face, but anyway.

Yeah, I'm without a doubt a slacker, just not a sleeper.

Are you thinking i read alot, or trying to br a smartass about plato's republic? btw i havn't read it and don't plan to \m/

well, on weekdays... I sleep between 9PM to 10PM on Weekends and vacation... 10PM-3AM.

I stay up until 2:30 pretty much every night. I have to get up for college at about 7:00. Sometimes you can feel your eyes getting heavy towards the end of the week when you blink during class, but I make up for it at the weekend.

I normally watch a DVD most nights at 00:00 which are normally 2 hours long.

Days should be extended to 48 hours, then I'd have time to do stuff. Meh.

and here i thought i was the only one who has trouble getting up early after going to bed late :)

Because im unemployed (read lazy) I stay awake until 4:30-5:00am watching the crap on TV, I stay in bed until 14:00. If I have been drinking then im usually asleep for over a day, occasionally up a tree/in someone elses house.

I normally stay up late when i have m8s round , like 4am, lol
then i go to bed about 1 on a quiet nite.
