Anyone take advantage of all the deals? I never bought so much crap in my life. In the last 5 days I bought:

Batman: AA GOTY
Bioshock 2
Borderlands 2
Black Ops 2
Crysis 2 Maximum Edition
Darksiders 2
Deus EX: Human Revolution
Dragon Age: Origins Ultimate Edition
Skyrim
Far Cry 2
GTA 4
GTA Episodes from LC
Just Cause 2
LA Noire
Mass Effect 1 and 2
Max Payne 3
Metro 2033
Saints Row the Third
The Witcher 1 and 2 Enchanced Editions

Total cost: $255 (two of them were full price games)
What I would've spent if I bought these as they came out: $1,140

Anyone else here capitalize on the deals? How much did you save? I'm new to buying games on steam (my computer the last 6 years barely ran counter-strike, so I haven't been able to play any of these) Do they do deals like this all the time? And finally, why do I read on some forums that Steam sucks and people hate it?

I personally haven't jumped on anything yet, mostly because I have a large backlog of games, and the inevitable holiday sale should also have a number of these games on sale as well.

Just Torchlight 2. There are a few other things I "want" but I'm trying to be more realistic about what I'll actually get around to playing lately.

That and I just got a 3DS.

These days buying games on steam is, for me, a cold, dead-eyed assessment of potential future savings versus current discounts. I think many people on this forum may have a similar view, where for years and years we've eagerly filled up our libraries and now a sale is just another set of decisions to make and ahhhh I don't even play videogames damnit

I'm usually all over the Steam sales, but due to a lack of funds and already owning most of the games on sale (thank you very much past sales!), my purchases have been very limited. In fact, I think the only games I bought were the 'Two World's pack(s). Also doesn't help that I just have a massive backlog of games to get through still!

Really tempted to get Dishonored whilst it's still on offer though, assuming I can bribe a relative/friend!
