Steam Client Beta Available

A new beta for Steam client is available. To access it go to File>Settings, and on Account tab pick Change... button. From drop down menu pick Steam Client Candidate.
[br]List of changes:

• Fixed rare cases of missing desktop shortcuts, Game Explorer links and uninstall entries
  
• Fixed a potential overlay crash in games that run ShellExecute with a very long command line
  
• Fixed input for Asian languages

They need to make a fix for USB headsets, my mate has to constantly unplug then plug back in his USB microphone as it stops working in Left 4 Dead. Anyone know a fix?

I am 70% addicted to Counterstrike. What about you?

Have you tried disabling onboard sound card if you are using USB sound card?

Look for new drivers for whatever card or chipset he's using.

I got one too Marler and I don't have that problem. While L4D is buggy as all hell, it doesn't have that problem.
