Steam down at the moment?

Is Steam down at the moment? I can't seem to connect.

Also, why the f*ck is the Cancel button greyed out? It sits there saying "Connecting to Steam" and I can't cancel. Thats all it does. Cheers Valve! :thumbs:

Check the status page at steampowered.com. There was a dip not too long ago.

Well about half an hour later it decided to connect. Only now, even though I pre loaded the entire CS:S, it says it only has 58% of it. It says it requires updates to play. But it's not downloading the f*cking updates! How the hell do I make it update? Why the hell can't Valve just let us download patches like every other game company out there?

Don't worry guys, it's started updating after a few minutes. Only a mere 470 minutes until I can play CS:S. Man, Steam is so awesome, thanks Valve! :thumbs:

Why in Gods name can't Valve let us download the updates from wherever we want? Then I could get onto a server that doesn't suck huge amounts of hairy ass.
