Steam Downtime - 4th February

An announcement from Steampowered outlines there will be a disruption to Steam this Thursday at 6pm PST for software maintenance on Steam servers.

Some Steam services will be offline during this time. Affected services will include the Steam Community, in-game matchmaking or lobbies, downloading games from Steam content servers, and making purchases from the Steam store. Games that do not rely on Steam matchmaking services should remain playable.

L4D1 and L4D2 are obviously reliant upon matchmaking. The TF2 item system is also linked through Steam community (and achievements).[br]Time clarifications for maintenance: 6pm PST / 11pm EST / 4am GMT - Will last 3 hours maximum till 9pm PST / 2am EST / 7am GMT.

You have to wonder how deep this upgrade goes. I can't recall any time within the last couple years like this, but my memory sucks anyway.

Maybe it's just me, but my first attempt to install the Orange Box continually fails at 59%.
I'm assuming this is apart of the above downtime, still seems a bit early (tried at 12.00 GMT) maybe other problem? Advice appreciated

Sorry should have added the Steam update fails at 59%, after 15+ attempts.
Rig is at least 4x above min. spec ( Ican run Crysis happily) so am getting little frustrated.
