Ok, so a while back i bought far cry 2, gta4, and DODS all together. I tried to install them but they all were taking forever. I eventually got Far cry 2 and dods installed but now i still have to install gta4. problem is, is its such a big installation and its taking too long. That could be because of my internet (since installing games over steam is installing from internet server rather than a disc with retail) but its not even so much the speed of installing, because most of them time it just restarts the installation. Like over and over it reset the progress back to 0% or even goes back to the 'Download starting' status. Then i have to redo everything and it can never complete. the furthest i got on it was 20% which took 2 whole days, but then it stopped and went back to 0%... this is so frustrating. i cant get the ****ing game installed! it just keeps stopping and reseting.

i even contacted jeff lane on my friends list (a valve employee) and he told me to log off, delete my clientregistryblob file, then log back on and try again. Ive tried that so many times... please help...

The 'Download starting' is a bug that's been around since the early days of Steam and as far as i can tell there is no fix for it apart from trying again. It should continue where it left off after verifying what it's already downloaded. So it may say 0% but then it'll jump back to 20% where it left off.
