Steam installs DoD:S at every start

Here's the problem. It's minor, and not actually a problem, but still. Every time I start DoD after booting the computer or Steam, Steam says I have to install it before I can play. So I install it and it's finished in a couple of seconds. However my config and settings don't change. Why does it do this? Every other game on my games list does it too, just tested.
