As topic states I am interested in downloading steam. Before I do I have a few questions hopefully someone can take a minute to answer for me.

1) I play TFC and CS right now (clans). I am interested in downloading steam to check out the HL2 vids and such. Will the download of steam in anyway effect my Sierra Folder containing my cfg files for TFC/CS, maps, xhairs, demos etc? I really don't want it to replace anything.

2) Will there be a STEAM icon placed on my Desktop?

3) Is STEAM pretty easy to use?

4) I have a nice cable modem, how long does it take to download?

4. Not long.. I have cable and it took under 10 minutes to download CS 1.6

I still can't figure a way of getting custom maps to work proper in 1.6, but then again it's still beta
