You will be able to do that.. as evidenced by the fact you can buy Condition Zero off Steam. Wouldn't you just be giving Valve more money for what the game is actually worth? They should have it to where you sign on, pay with CC, and download some compressed file that contains the game and cd-key. Once downloaded, you can burn to a CD for backup (very necessary) or run from your PC. But, just like most games have to have the CD to run the game, you should have to log onto Steam to play HL2 so Valve won't freak with the piracy issue. I'd rather have that than subscribing $10 a month.
