steam password

Hey, I had no idea where to post this and I realy dont feel like making a steam forum account so that I can get flamed. I am having trouble remembering what my password is(ya go ahead and laugh). I know there is the save password option when you start steam but when I started it today the password blank turned up empty. I never changed my password(that I can remember), or even had a reason to. I tried doing the retrieve password thingy but it seems that I must have missspelled my challenge phrase when I made my account and I cant figure it out. Anyways, my question is Does anyone know if the password saver thing keeps a file stored or somthing with the old stored password? Other then that any suggestions? I tried emailing steam support but they didn't answer as usuall. I have to get this account back because it has my hl2 ati package key thingy used for the key and im not sure if I cant get it back I cant get hl2 anymore. Thanks no flames please. I just want help.

too many people like you lose their password (like me for one) so I think there should be a file stored in your windows folder or something

A few more questions cause I still cant figure anything out... I dont know if anyone knows if the answer to the secret question is case sensitive? If you set your password as remembered will it always log in or does it make you type it back in after you update or somthing? I feel realy stupid about this.. All I can think of is someone else hijacked my account or I must have been up late some night and sleepily changed it and have no memory of it. I made a steam forum account but I'm still waiting for them to let me post so I might as well ask somewhere.

Z|insane, thanks for the info I needed to know that also but what I meant was the secret question not the password although I doubt anyone would know. I tried a whole bunch of answers in a billion variations and still none have worked. I will probably end up PMing him even though I have heard that they hate to be PMed with this stuff and probably wont answer. Or if he does he will just say the same thing he says to everyone about the troubleshooter thingymabob. But I still have to wait for that stupid steam forum account to activate...BAH!# If anyone else has any other info that could help me I would appreciate it.

Taylor was nice to me, as long as you don't go off the deep end they are pretty nice. Where is the secret question thing though? I can't find it...

Hey I finnaly was able to PM Taylor about it so I hope to get at least some answer back. The secret question is the question that steam asks you when you make your account so that if you forget your password you can recover it by just remembering the answer to the question ex: What is the name of your dog? Spot. Meh its realy ironic that I forgot both answer and password although after browsing the steam boards it seems a lot of people do.

Whenever I get a secret question field, I always answer in some stupid way. I wouldn't even be able to remember any secret answers for any account anywhere..
